Yes its great and all, but bioware says a "standalone" seperate from the story like **** zombies on call of duty. I believe this isnt the way to make mass effect 3 the best it can be, as bioware keeps saying! So i thing they should allow your friends to tag along for missions and assignments instead of your crew members. As the story is all about being reinforced by the rest of the galaxy, it fits in perfectly with the storyline. An easy way round having friends in your game when you start a conversation with somebody, let your "recommend" what you say.

if enough people agree, bioware might just consider it, theres always hope!

My personal opinion is that co-op and multiplayer of any kind will be bad for ME3.

I don't see anything in the "News" forum. Are you referring to one of those articles that says co-op is rumoured?

But Mass Effect shouldn't have co-op. Mass Effect is a game where your Sheppy single-handedly save the universe, and I don't see how the co-op experience would fit in, even if it would be just combat.

Seeing how they have managed to integrate the conversation system in SW:ToR it is certainly possible to have a story driven co-op in the Mass Effect universe. I don't see it happening until Mass Effect 4 or something though, when Shepard's story is (allegedly) over.

I'm not an expert or something but doesn't a confirmation require a source, and preferably a reliable one? Right now I'm seeing neither...

And hopefully thats the way it should stay.

The best I could find, which I've posted the link to wasn't definite. Though it looks like BW have gone from saying that there won't be MP to being ambiguous about it, and not outright denying it.

I don't think they ever said there won't be MP, just that they haven't figured out how to do it yet. It's possible they have figured it out by now. If they're being ambiguous about it it probably means they're working on it but don't know for certain if they can complete it.

It seems by upgrading combat, EA is trying to make ME3 appeal not only to the RPG fans but also fps fans. It's common knowledge most fps games are played only because of the multiplayer aspect (because of the generally very short single player game). By not denying multiplayer (in fact not even commenting on it and taking no stance on it) it's effectively free marketing for Mass Effect 3 because these rumors will reach the ears of the fps fans. 

Casey Hudson did state they were aiming for the best SINGLE player experience that they could achieve. I guess we'll have to trust him about this for now.

I agree (and this has probably been stated 100 times) that MP would be very bad for ME3. I play ME for the personal story. By adding multiplayer, not only is BW taking precious development time away from what really matters - the story - but also adding a function that I personally (and I bet a lot of others) won't even use. I for one have no interest in going online or in a co-op mode, killing as many husks as possible. Stick to the story and reserve a possible multiplayer function for Mass Effect 4.

Corporate logic will than be that a ME3 with mp might attract a 22 % larger audience.

I *really* hope these rumors stay just that -rumors. Let them stain future games / spin-offs with MP / co-op but keep that resource hog away from the last game in the ME triology.

Need to stay away from MP. Bio does not make good MP games.

A coop ME? Really? 2 Sheps? I mean, how would that work? One play as Shep, one as Tali or Garrus? Would there be a Coop sex scene as well?
