Is there any known way to remove the save restrictions on ME2?
If a person wanted to have more than 50 saves.

you can manually move your save files to another folder. That will leave the game thinking that you don't have those saves and hence let you make a new save.
To move the saves simply cut the files from the original folder ("documents/Bioware/Mass effect 2/saves" or something similar to that) to another folder for example "documents/Mass effect 2 extra saves"
