So your not-dumb argument is that you "want to see their face!"

No Mr. Strawman, that's not my argument. I simply stated that your argument was wrong and dumb and my counter-argument was that people CAN love Tali for her personality and still be curious how she (and the rest of the quarians) look like.

Also, to say that if you really love Tali, you'll be dissapointed with whatever B/W comes up with is simply stupid. If BioWare doesn't make Tali completely hideous I think no-one will be dissapointed, except for the elite talimancers who say that "it should stay a mystery", but those people are just typical no-life nerds, no offense.

There are always people who are going to complain. Haters gonna hate. But I say: Screw the haters. BioWare should do what THEY think is best regarding the quarians and what they look like.

If you really are that interested in seeing a quarian, you must know that whatever bioware comes up with will disappoint you. Can I ask, what was it about Tali that made you a fan of hers to begin with? If it was only because you thought that her face might be reveiled later after you talked to her/romanced her, that seems like very little to be attached to a character for. If you were genuinley interested in the character, than by this point, what her face looks like shouldn't really matter to you.

That's wrong.

I fell in love with Tali for her personality, quite true. If her appearance is truly terrible, that still doesn't take anything away from her fantastic character. I'm curious as to her appearance and that of all Quarians purely out of the sake of curiosity. If she's beautiful, then she has an appearance to match her personality. If she's hideous (which I still don't think she will be, whether she's more alien or not), then she's still a fantastic character.

Some people won't think less of a person just because their not on par with some sort of model standard. Garrus isn't the ideal looking man either, but I still love his personality enough to continue a romance with him with a female Shepard. His rough Turian exterior doesn't matter, the same way whatever Tali looks like won't matter in terms of her character. They can be beautiful in their own right and not entirely human-looking, just like the Turians and other races are.

I want to see the Quarians when, here's hoping, that they finally get to feel the air and the sunlight on their skin again. I think that the possibilities of getting to see them without their suits could be far more amazing than what they actually look like. Imagine the feeling of a scene if you were there with the Quarians, as they finally got to reveal themselves in the open, freely, once again?

I think the scenes could be beautiful and powerful, and that's what I want.

KFD is that you????

Actually the vast majority of Talimancers don't give a f*ck about mystery.
Whatever their opinons on the reveal they like the character's personality faaar more than the "Mystery"

The only "Talimancers" Who espouse the "DON'T SPOIL DA MYSTERIEZZZZ" argument are subtle trolls like Saphra.

I'm conflicted. Part of me thinks it should stay a mystery, but another part just really, really, really wants to see her face. I don't know, maybe they should just describe it without actually showing it.

Before Tali's face is revealed there is huge speculation on what she looks like. Is she pretty or ugly, is she humanoid or more alien, nose or no nose, eye and skin color, etc.

But we already know that she has a nose, and a rather human looking one even. We can see it through the helmet.

She might look "alien" as in "Thane" or "Liara", of course, with some fancy stuff on her head or strange, pointy ears. Or she could look like a human with purple skin (although that would be pretty lame, because we already got that covered in the ME universe). She could also be both pretty and ugly. But I highly doubt that anybody would imagine her without a nose or without eyes or without arms and legs, considering that she clearly has all these things. And if somebody does, he obviously can't complain later that his imagination didn't come true.

Ah, I see. I didn't know that. Thanks for informing me.

I'm not really familiar with the Tali fanbase. Although I'm a Tali fan myself, I rather keep a distance from her fanbase, no offense. But it seems the fanbase is less strange than I thought, if what you say is true that is.

I know that if her face is revealed many people will be happy, but I know there will be those who are upset because we will have "got it wrong". We won't have gotten it wrong as we are the creators and what we say goes (yeah, I know how that sounds, but you get what I mean), but for those people we will have gotten it wrong as we won't have lived up to their vision of what she looks like.

I disagree with this concept. As you said yourself, you can't "get it wrong" because it's your IP. You sure got yourselves in a fanservice rut by not revealing her in ME2, but I don't think keeping her appearance secret because your afraid of fan reaction is a good way to go about it.

I say do it, even if only for loyal LI's. The fans deserve it.

Show the face, but have her look just 'normal'.
Pale maybe... since pale would make sense... but just a 'normal' face.

Nothing especially pretty or unpretty.

What's wrong with a normal face?

Besides, Tali lovers love her for her personality. Hell that's all we have to go on. So ultimately they should be fine whatever the face.
Of course there are dem hips, but that's a very shallow thing to like a character on (note: I do not mean this to be taken offensively; I like her hips, too).

I hope they just reveal a Quarian. I could care less if it is Tali or not they reveal.

It will be fun to see the reaction from the tali fanboys if they don't reveal it. Judging by Chris's pov on this, it doesn't seem likely to happen. Oh the nerd rage that we'll be seeing this march 6th. :P

Fortunately no-one ever really needs to cater to the ****s'n'giggles crowd, they just make their own fun doing...whatever they do.

From here: Since it's not that important to see Tali's face, I'm really not bothered either way. Having said that, if we don't see any Quarian's face, I'd rather it be because they didn't have the time to do it, than because it's some kind of grand  cosmic mystery... It's not a mystery - not to everyone in the galaxy who have access to the Extranet, so they'll all know what they look like under the suits - some of them even remember in person. It's not like the Force, or the Shrike, or the Holy Grail, or anything like that... It's a face.

Further opinion on the issue

I think it will be MORE fun to see the reaction from the nerds who want it to be a mystery and keep saying silly stuff like their imagination is always better than what B/W can come up with. People are gonna RAGE when Tali's face get revealed and she doesn't look the way they expected her to look like. It's gonna be fun.

Personally, I would love to see B/W's own idea of the quarians. I want to see THEIR artistic view on the quarians. I want to know what THEY, the creators of Mass Effect, can come up with regarding the looks of the quarians. I don't give a crap about anyones wild fantasies, not even my own. It's always cooler to be surprised with the artistic work of the artist then to always keep wondering what's underneath that mask.

In my opinion, ignorance is NOT bliss.

I can't even image how you think you can get away with telling someone how they think or will react better than that person can for them self.

As I have said I just hope they have more faith in the fans that we wont all go ballistic if some of us don't like the way her face looks. They dramatically changed Liara's personality from ME1 to ME2. It looks like they are going to do the same for Jack from ME2 to ME3. They are also making a big change to how Ash looks. Where some people unhappy and very out spoken about these changes? Yes, but the majority of people enjoyed it and accepted it. I feel strongly people will act similarly if they show Tali's face; some people will get upset and nerd rage all over the internet but the majority of people will accept it and enjoy it no matter what they end up making her look like.

Also these games have all been about choices so why not make it a choice. If you are willing to make some effort and sacrifices for it you can get Tali out of the mask. If not then you get to keep the mystery.

And no I don't buy the, "I wont be able to keep it a mystery because people will post her face all over the internet," argument.

Again, as long as there is some context as to why she would be showing her face in ME3 when she did in ME2 and the developers decided not to let you see her face, then I'm all for it. I'm not telling people how they will react. If you really think being disappointed by her the appearance the developers decide to give her isn't a issue at all, you're fooling yourself. There is always that possibility. By the way, you can't accuse someone of telling others how they will feel when you generalize the entire fan base by saying that they all enjoyed or accepted Liara's change of character from ME to ME2.

I clearly said not eveyone was happy with those changes but on a whole I feel it was clear that most people did enjoy how they grew and developed those characters. That was my whole point.

And when you say "...you must know that whateverbioware comes up with  will disappoint you."  Yes, you are telling other people what they are thinking.

As for context I have often felt they didn't show Tali's face in ME2 as they really couldn't have even if they wanted to as they made alot of cuts. Like a few crewmates on the Normandy we totally cut from the game. And also they most likely just wanted to save that decision to show or not show her face unti ME3. But I am only guessing.

I say show us tali's face.  BEFORE it turns into an unnecessary mystery.  It's a FACE.  It's not the meaning of life. Making her face a grand cosmic mystey is like putting the ****** on the pedestal.

I fully 100% agree with that.

Show it. She's a character growing with each game. She started out shy and fragile. The mask suits that personality. ME2 she grew more bold, undertaking her own missions for her race. ME3 she is now a combat veteran fighting for causes that she believes in (both her and shep's). She is no longer the shy girl on a pilgrimage. Show her face, but do so in a climatic way. Have it blown off in a firefight with a reaper. Have her have to risk life by continuing into a hazard zone with an open suit. Make it something vital to survival of the galaxy. Something she must do. Anything less would be a disservice to her character growth.

I also say show her face. A bit scared that it will be some creepy tentacles flying about the place though. *shudders*. If its the case then keep the mask on forever.

I don't want her face shown. The fact that she is in a full body suit and mask is part of what make sher character unique. Take that away and the mystery dissapears and thats the end of it. If they HAD to show her face show it only to those who had a three game relationship with her and never cheated, and only at the end of ME3.

I have an idea: Right before you unmask Tali, the game will pause and jump to charracter creation menu and there you can create your own tali face and then return back to the game.

I'm not sure either, but I'm 99% sure it's a complement.
Both myself, and other people (GAC included) were impressed by your post. It's literally a light in the dark, only in this case it's a incredibly awesome post in a sea of mostly crap.
