Personally, I don't see the problem with unmasking Tali. It is Bioware's vision, it's their decision and I'm looking foward to seeing her face.

Yeah Of course, 20,000 people will convince all their friends to say yes just for answer to a small question. Very credible.

People will click on it because it's something new and shiny to click on Facebook. That's all the motivation they need.

If this poll was about Zaeed and his attractiveness, I'm pretty sure the result would be the same.

*sigh* Once again I feel the masses are going to end up ruining the Mass Effect experience for me. I think there are far too many people out there simply voting "yes" without really thinking about it. And mark my words, I'll bet there'll be more disappointment in the end if they do.

To me showing Tali's face would ruin the experience much like the versions of Alien and Jaws where they show too much of their respective monsters.

Excuse me, it is not the masses who will decide. Bioware has already made its decision.

And the fanservice, excuse me, it's that kind of bull**** that drives refuse to want development for selfish reasons as  " I do not want my imagination to be ruined ". Mass Effect 3 is the revelation of the mysteries, is the sensation is the fulfillment, top it off with a magnificent adventure. The quarians will play a bigger role, so why not further about what they are. Bioware has intended to show quarians at first, and some core fan, " ooooh my goood , don't please, do not want, my imagination. " the majority on the bsn say yes, so stop talking about the mass. " It's you and some talimancers, again. Even among fans of Tali  here, some want.

Really, Touching, but selfish. No solid reason, thank you. As I said, some would be annoyed to see a development ignored for fragile little minds.

In addition, " the imagination " is a bit stupid in a video game, the artistic vision of the creator of the game is essential. The Qunari I do not like how they were developed in DA2, I accepted. I do not like in Dragon Age that the elves are considered as physically thinner and more fragile than humans. It's like that, it's their world, it is, deal with it.

If you do not like, do not  want to think this way, go to the fanfiction. Let Mass Effect be what it should be.

I don't get why people disregard the Facebook poll. The ME2 page has 650,000 some odd fans. Around 24,000 people have voted on it. Sure, that's only 4% of the ME2 Facebook fan base, but many polls represent the beliefs of the many while only recording the beliefs of the few. It's no more or less invalid than most other polls on any other subject. The people who care enough about this subject to ring in (the outspoken few) are obviously very much in favor of revealing Tali's face.

There is nothing to be lost, character-wise, by revealing what Tali looks like. I, along with many others, don't like Tali because she's "mysterious". I like her because she's a charismatic, well-written, and well-voiced character. I don't like the quarians because they're mysterious. I like them because they have a unique situation in the ME galaxy, and have a very interesting Marxist society, be it out of necessity or otherwise. They are a fascinating part of the ME lore, and not knowing what they look like isn't a good thing. It's detrimental to the experience.

Tali already has a great personality and a wonderfully developed character. It won't hurt; rather, it would help the emotional connection the player feels to said character, and add even greater weight to any decisions that might affect her or her people even more than they would already. Come on, Bioware. You know how to design wonderfully colorful worlds and the beings that dwell in them. Do us one more favor and blow our minds with some awesome-looking unmasked space gypsies.

@sylvanius: what development? it has never been necessary to see quarian faces - indeed it has been reiterated that it is unlikely in almost any situation. there was already the fan-service xenomancing in ME2, really, does anyone actually have to know everything about everything in the games? tali's face is best left to fan-fiction, the games have more important things to showcase.

oh don't spoil it for him - when everyone finally realises that quarian faces should look just as alien as the rest of their anatomy, their collective crying will become the stuff of legends.

Yeah, Jebel, because Liara's ass and Miranda's bosoms were important items to showcase. Mass Effect is a character-driven story. Wanting a heavier emotional connection to the characters in that story makes decisions heavier, and as events transpire, they hit the player harder. It makes for a more immersive and memorable experience. Big stuff matters, but it's always been the little nuances and attention to detail that sets ME so far apart from the rest of the A-RPG crowd.

I don't care Tali, even if I think she should show her face due to the developement in Mass effect 2. But Quarians, a people as a whole, yes. The face of Quarians is known by all the galaxy; IT... IS ...NOT... A... SECRET.

In thruth The most important I think,  is the result of a development that could be arrested for a stupid reason, requirement of a small minority screaming that is not followed by the majority, and without valid reasons, only selfish. When I learned that, It made me mad.

That's why the case has become so important. That's why the fans would be upset now, if before they didn't care. Therefore it became important that they show. It is a way that is not acceptable. And if Bioware had planned to show the quarians, it is obviously to deepen it. I do not even need to say anything about how that would be interesting to learn and see new scenes as rewarding. It's obvious.

And the eternal mysteries, just to the mystery, it's not the kind that I find interesting. Mass Effect has a lot of secrets that can grow. From M1 to M2, all led to what Tali reveals herface. I will not repeat everything again, everything was said about it. And then you could not. Why ? Because some people want their imagination. A refusal of a development for the story ? WTF ? If you want to be in a denial, too bad for you, but the other don't need suffer your decision. It's like refusing to have a new race. But that's your business.

The mystery is made to be revealed at a time, it gives the sensation, especially in a series. Mass Effect 3 must  reserves the most surprises.

I stand by my option, show quarians, just not Tali. It is impossible to please the one crowd without creating massive discontent within the other, so why not take an intermediate solution that at least appeases both crowds. Granted, none gets its full share, but at least no one gets the hammer to the face.

I don't see how people actually still fuzz over who's right if clearly both are wrong. I mean, everyone could see it if they just looked at the bigger picture!

So, showing who or what Shepard potentially slept with is now unimortant? I dare say most people actually care a bit more about their characters.

PS: it's not the BIG DEAL the developers are seemingly trying to make it, as it is common knowledge in the universe, but it's definitely not unimportant.

Just because a compromise is in the middle of two dissenting points of view does not make it correct. You want to drown 500 puppies. I want to drown 0 puppies. So you say, hey, let's compromise! 250 puppies. Everybody's happy.

Show it. People are going to be upset no matter what, so I pick the option that doesn't make me mad. I'd like her to be attractive, but if she's ugly I still want to know. When I romanced her in ME2, I threw the controller across the room over that tease. If it's "left up to my imagination," she's going to die in the SM from here out. And Kal'Reegar. And the rest of the Quarians if I have the choice. I read several books a week, my imagination has enough left up to it, thank you very much.

I thought in a compromise no one is happy, or at least everyone is disappointed.  I was about to suggest what Deofelis wrote, actually.

Well, I'd personally like to see her face, and honestly I think the safest bet (as far as keeping people happy) would be to use her voice actress as a model. (Sure beats designing something from scratch) Another option is to show her face ONLY to those that romanced her. Just a thought.

Show her face. I've waited for her face reveal since the moment I rescued her outside of Chora's den. Everyone who knows Tali knows her evolution through the series. She went from a girl you rescued in the lower Wards who was reserved and somewhat shy at times, but very proud of the Flotilla, to ME2 where she's a Quarian hero who leads, knows what she wants, expresses more about who she is and what she wants rather than just the Flotilla. She's all about emergence. Let her take that final step and reveal her face. Everyone's ideal image will be different, but Bioware has the right to do so. No one on this board could have created or imagined Garrus, Wrex, or any other character so designed so amazingly, but Bioware did, so have faith they will deliver if they opt for Tali's face. Whether there is a reveal or not, I'll stand with Bioware's decision.

Well said sir !

1- Everything leads Tali to reveal her face.

2- Since when some fans decide to refuse a development ( That is for all ) for a reason like that. Soon they'll decide now to not allow to know more about the past of the characters because they prefer their imagination. What a joke.

This is nonsense.

Ähem, please read my proposal before going on to ramble about something you didn't understand.
I specifically did NOT mention a compromise, but an intermediate solution. That is entirely different, especially to what method of operation you just blurted out.

If you go by my logic of not wanting to displease anyone, the "compromise" would have been more like being able to "drown" 500 puppy puppets, because obviously drowning any number of real ones would upset people. If you really convinced yourself I think in such shallow patterns and double standards, you should take your logic to a check-up my dear forumite.

And @ Sylvianus:
You are more and more resembling a "Stop not liking what I like"-Hater with your foremost negative reasonings. Just to point that out.
