I was just thinking if they show her face it will probably be towards the end of the game. I'd rather not see her face but no matter what she looks like, her mask is what i will recognize her as. I't would be nice if they show a different quarian some how.

Just considering Shepard's expression, Tali must be reasonably nice-looking by human standards, I'd guess.

I said elsewhere on the internet: If it were me, I might reveal a quarian, but not necessarily Tali. That'd define her without leaving nothing to imagination.

I think this might be the best compromise. As Chris was saying, seeing Tali herself might feel wrong, but on the other hand I think everyone wants some kind of idea in their head of what quarians look like. Then you could imagine that she looks more or less like the other quarians; it could be stated that they vary in coloring and other details in the codex.

I do also like the "player choice" idea, though, as described here:

I say Show it. Lucas had the same problem when it came to Vader. Still didn't change how cool he was. Same applies to Tali.

Yeah, besides, if you are marketing a trilogy of games and following the -three act formula- All must be revealed in the third act.

People claiming the "player choice" is actually a choice for the player are mistaken.

As said a gazillion times already, people will post screenshots here without warning. So much for the "player choice".

The BSN isn't a prerequisite of playing the game. Saying that Bioware should not do something because people will post X on Y thread is...well, it's idiocy. That's like saying, "Bioware shouldn't make a plot for ME3 because people will post spoilers and it'll get ruined." What's the point? It's pretty much understood that any sort of communication medium revolving around any kind of story/lore will contain spoilers. You go on these forums at your own risk. The "but what if people post pictures of Tali" argument is preposterous. If you really don't want anything to be spoiled for you, don't communicate with anyone, ever. Problem solved.

It's one thing to avoid the forums while you play the game for the first time and a rather different one to have to avoid anything remotely Mass Effect related for an indefinitely long period of time. That's what those who don't want to see what quarians look like will have to do. Not saying it shouldn't be implemented, just stressing that it will be pretty much equivalent to a reveal for those who care about the game. And those who don't probably don't have this issue anyway.

After the tease in ME2 I'd be pretty suprised if we don't get to see what she looks like.

If the developers are having trouble with Tali's appearance, why not let the fans work on it? Here's how it will work: Announce a contest in which fans can submit their depictions of Tali. Bioware will choose a few possibilities from the submissions and post them to be voted on by the fans. Bioware can then use this feedback to help make the choice with the winner being revealed in ME3. This way should help make the fans happy because it allows them to have a say in the appearance. and therefore achives the greater good.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but whilst we as players have not seen Tali's face, if Shepard romanced her then he actually has seen her face.
I know the devs have already decided but it would seem fairly silly to me if we weren't at least given the option of seeing her.

i say, show a few quarian faces but keep tali's face hidden, that would keep her face a mystery but we'd still see how a quarian would look like.

Or Maybe show Like a bit of tali's face like an eye or like the side of her face or something, but yeah they should show quarians so we know what they look like

Make Tali's face dependant upon the situation in which her face is revealed e.g. If it's a (Paragon) situation, have a relatively pretty face be it blue, sticky and/ or albino from lack of sunlight.

(Renegade) If However Tali dies in combat and/or is injured badly, have her face injured and scarred
but essentially a dying variant of the healthy (Paragon) face.

Why not? Well, no matter what she looks like under there or how well a job the team does with the reveal, it will never live up to what I personally have in my own imagination. Don't get me wrong, I know if they choose to reveal her face, they will put a lot of time and effort into making it the moment fans have been waiting for. However, it just won't live up to what I have in my mind's eye.

Take, say, the Harry Potter films. I read the books before seeing the movies and even though I think the cast did an awesome job in the roles they were cast for, they weren't exactly what I had envisioned Dumbledore or house elves looking like, or Snape or dragons sounding like, etc. What was done was awesome work, but it was (for me) just a tiny bit wrong at the same time.

Before Tali's face is revealed there is huge speculation on what she looks like. Is she pretty or ugly, is she humanoid or more alien, nose or no nose, eye and skin color, etc. All the things fans have been guessing and speculating and fan arting for years now. Once we reveal her THAT is what Tali looks like. No more guessing or hoping or whatever. I know that if her face is revealed many people will be happy, but I know there will be those who are upset because we will have "got it wrong". We won't have gotten it wrong as we are the creators and what we say goes (yeah, I know how that sounds, but you get what I mean), but for those people we will have gotten it wrong as we won't have lived up to their vision of what she looks like.

So for me, I hope they don't reveal her face. I also get why people want to see it, but I prefer to leave it up to my imagination to determine her look. Still, I have no say in whether her face is shown or not. Casey and the team will weigh all the pros and cons and make the right choice and we'll all see whether they reveal it or not. Stay tuned.

Well, it wasn't really the moment everyone was waiting for, but he was definately right when he said some people would be mad because that's not how they wanted her to look.

Only if it serves no purpose, if people actually realize this is from 8 months ago they can compare how people felt about revealing her face to how it is now, now that it was revealed.
