I've said it before:  If Tali is even remotely attractive by human standards I will be profoundly disappointed in BioWare for pandering to the audience in spite of the character.

My mind is boggled by your inability to read.

I have already edited my post to reflect the comment I was referring to.  I did not even look at the link.

I bet you think having Miranda exclusively wear a skintight catsuit was perfectly in line with the rest of her character, too.

Show her face!

It is kind of lame that everyone in the galaxy knows what the Quarians look like under their helms (including Shepard), but the player does not. That needs to be remedied.

Bioware should have the courage to design a face for her, and unmask her. Those that go into nerd rage because she doesn't fit their expectation will eventually get over it, and if they are Talimancers, they can always romance someone else on another playthrough if they don't like her face.

I'd prefer that her face remain a mystery.

This is less for her character, and more for the quarians as a whole. I like them as a race that has a "mysterious" appearance to the player. It gives each player some freedom to imagine the quarians on their own, rather than having Bioware define their appearance for us.

I don't think revealing Tali's face would "ruin" the quarians, or that it would "ruin" her character - but I rather prefer the way things are now.

Short version. I dont want her unmasked!

Well, they will keep appearing until her face is shown...

I think they should do either:
A) Keep face hidden,
B) Make face something really weird and nonhuman.

It's not trolling.  I agree.

Tali shouldn't be attractive to humans or the romance loses whatever "our love goes beyond aesthetics and even race" appeal it endeavored to have.

I've said it before:  If Tali is even remotely attractive by human standards I will be profoundly disappointed in BioWare for pandering to the audience in spite of the character.

Yeah, that, as well. It's by far the more mature storytelling route to make aliens authentically alien. But I also think that making Talimancers mad is an end in itself :)

Tragically, what we're going to see is 90% likely to be "BioWare for pandering to the audience in spite of the character" because they've done that in the past as well.

Yes, reduce one of the nagging questions in this series to "lol I troll u Talimancers!"

Fix'd.

The ends justify the means, in my eyes :)

Like I said, it's a good thing you're not developing this game and that BioWare is actually staffed by people who don't develop irrational hatred towards certain eccentric fans and go out of their way to purposefully include poorly concieved and executed content solely to troll them.

The 'rage' that would follow a reveal that doesn't quite fit ones own vision would not last nearly as long as the 'rage' generated by not showing us at all. The first rage lasts as long as the individual is butthurt, the second lasts for as long as it's still kept a mystery.

Smart words for AVGN:
"Better to keep it as a mystery then to show us and f*ck it up."

If Bioware can't do it good, then they shouldn't do it.

I find your ignorance of those comments amusing. He's said in another thread that the thing he did wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, but it's even more hilarious that the internet thought he was serious and made a huge ruckus about it.

Judging people and generalizing entire fanbases based on what a few people might have said is so ungodly pathetic and sad.

But, that's BioWare Social Network for you. Stupidity incarnate, and is not likely to change any time soon.

Because that's the only time Talimancers have ever posted anything creepy?

Yeah, they just include poorly concieved and executed content to pander to them. Totally better.

She's going to be a space-elf, or something similar to the Draenei in World of Warcraft. I doubt bioware would actually make her look too alien because alot of her mancers would cry "I slept with what!? RAGEEE"

Shepard already bedded Tali. She's most likely attractive by humanoid standards. And they already have the Asari, a bunch of space babes.

Unless Shepard doesn't care about that.  Which would be, you know, nice.

That's right, Mass Effect already has the Asari.

I agree entirely.  We already have the "pointlessly sexy space elf" race in the form of the asari.  The quarians should look... well, alien.

Let it go already.  You have the option to have Tali killed if you hate her fanboys so much.  You also have the option to not read any posts with the word "Tali" in the title if it causes you to detiorate into such juvenile banter that basically equates to "If anything nice about this character happens I hate it"

Just like I have the option to end this conversation. Image IPB

I don't know, the odds of the galaxy containing more than one space-babe race are pretty good. Besides, Tali already has ugly toad digits that we have to overlook.

Is this something the romance ever did endeavor to have? Quite a few romances go beyond race and Tali's already aesthetically 'pleasing' figure-wise, unusual hands and feet notwithstanding.

I wouldn't mind if they did, but to me her current character design is iconic.

Its evidence that characters don't need to rely on their physical characteristics to become interesting.
I know some guys will disagree with me on this - but I wouldn't have reacted to her character any differently if she were a hannar. She would be the cutest hannar in the world. :x Or rather, her personality outshines her physical appearance.

The more I think about it, the more indifferent I am on the subject. I just hope that if they DO unmask her, that it has something to do with the story. I don't want it forced on me and explained in a poor manner.

I thought it did implicitly given that you don't see her face. Ever.

Pandering =/= nice stuff happening to a character. Pandering = playing to some sort of wierd validation thing that some of the fanbase has.

Fair enough, but wouldn't listening to your ideas be pandering as well?

Just think about it. Image IPB

Problem is, if you find someone to have a fascinating personality but know they are explicitly unattractive (as Shepard would, given the wealth of information there should be about quarians on the extranet, and the same applies for Tali since attraction usually works both ways) you become friends, spend time together but you don't have sex!
It's like, many people might find kittens adorable but not so many would get the urge to sexually stimulate them based on their feelings. So, unless Shepard is a perv (which should be left to the player's choice, I think), that attribute of Tali's appearance has already been decided in ME2. If she looks too alien to be attractive, there shouldn't have been any romance.

I wouldn't mind seeing her face, but it's not important to me. I like her as she is now, and seeing her face isn't going to change that.

Everyone is asking to make her different, I'm just gonna say don't make her Completely Butt ugly, Because I'll find it very hard to believe Shepard takes off her mask, & the face of the predator  is right there, & he's still all come gimme a kiss!

I'm sorry but that just isn't realistic..

Garrus has a Great character, so you get past his looks.. :alien: Like him for who he is on the inside, If Tali was Fugly, in reality there would be a moment of pause, you would need a moment to soak it all in...
