I don't think they should. After all, it's not really the end of Mass Effect, just the end of Shepard's part in it. I believe they shouldn't, especially if they are planning an MMO possibly. It's a trait of their race to not have their faces shown. Revealing it is like creating a new race.

Not really, also have you guys considered that in ME 3 the quarians may well re-take their homeworld or colonize a world that suits them? if the quarians win the war with the Geth, then they won't really be needing their suits anymore. so a reveal of what Tali or any quarian looks like, may well be part of the main plot of the game. or at least certain playthroughs depending on your decisions in ME 1 and 2.

Also it wouldn't be creating a new race, rather it would be showing the true nature of the quarian species. isn't that something people want? for the Quarians to be free of their suits forever? Honestly, I won't mind and I think if Bioware makes the decision to reveal her. well then it shows that they are bold enough to not bow to fan criticism, it is after all their game and their decision.

Just show the face IMO.

I'd hope they don't show the face, I'd rather deal with the backlash of people handling their imaginations than people handling how it isn't their imagination.

I say Bioware just unmask her. Or at least show us an unmasked Quarian, so we can get a picture of how she may look.

I get how either way people are going to be p'd off, but who gives a crap? Not like Bioware/EA are going to lose sales on ME4 (or even 3) because of it...because there will be no direct sequel.

Yes the Quarians could live without their suits but Tali said that it would take generations for their civilization to adapt again to their homeworld. It may not be within Shepard's lifetime to see Quarians without their suits on their homeworld so I don't see that as a viable option during Mass Effect 3. :?

Well you never know, besides it's a game not real life. anything could happen, they could end up with a cure for their 'condition' for all we know. it's a fictional universe and a video game one at that, so really almost anything is possible in ME 3 including Earth being destroyed and Humanity becoming extinct or endangered. besides they (bioware) said that variables and consequences in ME 1 and 2 will have a profound impact on the plot of ME 3, so who knows what the endgame is of all those possibilities. just saying.

I don't need to see her 'face' because I've already seen her face. She's the girl with the purple mask and the shy personality that's who she is seeing the flesh behind the mask isn't her 'face' just like the muscle beneath that or the bone beneath that.

I hear ya there dude. I think that everyone has their own view of what Tali's face would look like behind her mask anyway. But What bioware could do is make it an option in the menu or whatever... Like an option to allow tali to be unmasked or not.

I thought it was kind of silly that Quarians are so "mysterious" to the player when they've only been in those suits for... around 200 years? Maybe less. Asari and Krogan live for about 1000 years. Why isn't there a picture of Quarians pre-suit in galactic records and such? There would be. It wouldn't be that mysterious.

It's a tough call, but I think i'm in favor of showing her face. Revealing it wouldn't even come close to comparing it with a Master chief face reveal. They only wear the suits for environmental protection. It seems logical Shepard would at least see it once in his entire career.
Perhaps a tali romance only reveal? Yes, people who always build up their hopes way too high then have them crushed will be disappointed, but these people are always going to be disappointed.
Leaving it a mystery will upset a lot of people. Showing her face will generally only upset people who are cynical and build up their hopes way too high and become upset anyway. People who complain about 'Arrival' because it wasn't as good as LoTSB, for example.

It's a difficult decision. I personally would say try to find the right tali look using references from tali fan art depicting her unmasked - try to find specific reoccuring facial features to arrive at some happy medium.

There's no way to find a look for every fan to be happy, but I'd say if you find the proper context to show her face, go for it.

Best of luck.

No. Don't do it. Thanks to Lucas, I can't stand Darth Vader anymore.

Mystery is good for you.

It's a tricky one. I would like to see her face, but at the same time, I won't get mad if they decide to not show anything.

Shepard already knew what Quarians looked like when he removed Tali's mask. The only thing he learned was what Tali herself looked like.

As Rojahar said, the Krogan and Asari live for 1,000 years. The Geth and Quarians fought the Morning War about 300 years before the Mass Effect events. So there are Krogan and Asari alive who've seen Quarians, in the flesh, outside their suits. Erinya specifically says there are Asari old enough to know what Quarians look like outside the suits.

As Rojahar also said, there'd be video and photographic/holographic records of Quarians before they donned the suits. The Asari pride themselves on being the finest historians and archaeologists in the galaxy--they'd have records. Hell, there'd be home videos of Quarians in their natural state.

Mass Effect events begin in 2183 C.E. Humans and Turians fought the First Contact War in 2157 C.E.--26 years prior to The Eden Prime conflict. The Council granted humanity an embassy on the Citadel in 2166 C.E. Shepard was born in 2154 C.E.--meaning he was 12 years old when humans established their Citadel embassy.

What do all these dates mean? Shepard would've learned about Quarians in middle- and high school. He'd have seen pictures of them in his history holographs, etc. And oh by the way, he'd have seen what the Rachni looked like too--record keeping and stuff, ya know.

All that stuff Avina tells Shepard on his first visit to the Citadel is exposition for the players--especially for players who don't read the Codex. And when Shepard asks, "What are those bug things?" on Noveria, it means Shepard flunked history class, or he skipped school those days. It's even more incredible when an archaeologist like Liara--who intuited the Reapers' existence--doesn't know what Rachni look like.

The only people in the Mass Effect universe who don't know what Quarians look like are the players.

So given that, here's a solution: show Tali's face. And show us Quarians outside the suits too.

My Two cents are, I feel there should be many different endings and the your decisions that you've made with the quarians should get back to there homeworld and if they remove there masks.

Epic troll solution by Bioware:

Quarian husks. See, quarians not wearing a mask or a suit!

They're just horribly mutated and cybernetically modified!

EVERYONE WINS

To me it seems that not wanting to see Tali's face is kind of weird. If you're so obsessed about how a character someone else created "should" look in your opinion, you're a little bit obsessed.

I mean, she's not even that interesting or anything. But after 5 years of waiting I am somewhat curious as to what she looks like. I hope BioWare doesn't try to please those creepy, basement-dwelling talimancers too hard by not revealing her face.

I hope the only way to see Tali's face is if you make choices that get her killed, thus cracking the faceplate and revealing what's underneath. I love weighty decisions.

I'll be happy either way with bioware's decision regarding a Quarian face.Won't bother me if they show it or don't show it. Not a big Quarian fan myself though, which is probably why I don't care. There will be complaining regardless from others.

or what they could do (to please everyone) is setup the scene to where if you want to see here face there's a convo option that leads to it and if you don't there's one that leads away from seeing her face. (make it obvious enough so people know which is which).

I'm more interested in how they'll reveal the Quarian face.

I'm picturing them arriving to reclaim their homeworld, stepping out of a shuttle and removing their masks, or something like that. :)

We can almost see her face when she wear ME1's phoenix armor. Her cheek bones are weird and her nose is gigantic. Not sure if I want to see the rest of it.

I might be mistaken, but was there not an article stating that Tali's face would be revealed under unfavorable circumstances? I think she might actually die in ME3 and as a last request have her mask taken off, but if that happen I will cry and probably attempt to hang myself.:crying:
