Just show it and get it over with, what a drama...

really, there are 3 options:

1. Show her face, end the "mystery"
2. Don't show her face and continue with the mystery for no good reason other than there to be a mystery about what her face looks like (seriously, we're getting touchy about this?)
or 3. admit you never planned on what they actually look like. .. or do what they did in the trailer with that one female Krogan

I already commented on that article, but the best way to deal with this in my opinion would be to reveal her face only during a significant moment or if she's already a love interest. I mean technically they've already revealed Master Chiefs face when he was a kid and Samus Aran got a big reveal.

Why don't you just let the player decide what her face should look like or whether he wants to see it at all? Look at it as taking game customisation a step further. Customised weapons, customised story, customised Tali.

I'm sure that you can find a way to weave a few hidden choices about that into the game. Give the player the opportunity to buy either "Flowers for a beautiful woman" or "Beauty cream that will turn a Yagh into a sight of beauty". Make him choose between answers like "I'm sure you're beautiful", "I don't really want to know" and "I hear all quarians are totally ugly". Give him a choice like "Should I take my helmet off?" - "Absolutely!", "Better not, we don't want you to get sick." or "God, no, spare me!!". You could even make it a paragon or renegade interrupt for added drama.

And if you do decide yourself... please don't make her ugly :-)
I'm not her biggest fan and it would certainly be a bit over the top if she took off her mask and her long blonde hair fell out of her helmet in slow motion, but she's not exactly the ugly type either.

Leave Tali, and the quarians as a whole, a mystery. I find the idea that nobody except a quarian really knows what the quarian race looks like to be both interesting and tragic.

Except, everyone who cares in th mass effect universe does. It's only the player who is tragically ignorant of this relatively common sight.

Yeah, one would think there's an encyclopedia in the ME universe that would show what a Quarian looks like.

One quick trip to the extranet image search would probably show all kinds of things.  But for some reason they must remain mysterious, because of just one character.

Just show it.
Everyone in the ME universe knows what quarian looks like so why can't I?

Agreed.

It isn't a big mystery for the characters in the ME universe. There are Asari and Krogan who met Quarians before they had the suits. And the great civilizations of the galaxy have been in contact with Quarians long before they ever lost their homeworld. They would be in both history and biology textbooks, not to mention in news reports or online publications, and probably in movies as well.

Everyone knows what a Quarian looks like under the suit, except for the player.

I agree. In a game where player choices are so important - also give the players this choice.

The only problem is the internet trolls who are probably gonna spoil it for those that don't want to see her face.

/this

This whole situation is beyond ridiculous at this point. Let the player see what everyone else in the ME Universe knows already.

Everyone in the the universe of me knows what quarians look like but owe know we players can't see what any quarian especially tali looks like. So I would rather see what tali looks like than just leave her in a mask.

I don't think they will show her face. I think they will show a Quarion's face somehow but not hers..

We've fallen in love with tali not knowing what she looks like so there is no question  about it mattering, but after teasing us in ME2 i think we deserve some kind of fan based peace

Nope, when she was romanced in ME2 She takes antiboiotics as well as some herbal supplements that boosted her immune system enough so when you do take off her mask she doesn't die ;)

I want to know what Tali and her people look like but I'm glad I don't have to make that choice. Plus what about female Salarians and Turians? I know they hint at the female Krogan in ME3 so we might see that.

Agreed, keep the mystique of the Quarian faces.  Besides many fans will be rubbed the wrong way no matter what is revealed.

I personally don't care for Quarians in general but the whole mystique route is what I would go with if I wanted to keep their interest up for certain members.

I wish they would have a little more faith in us fans that we are not going to go insane if they reveal her face and it isn't what some people wanted it to look like. I think Turians look like creepy space lizards that eat babies but I love Garrus.

So please for the love of the ancestors show her face.

VERY good idea. Only show her face if you have her as a love interest. That way people who want to keep it a mystery on what the quarians look like can keep it a mystery and all the people who want to see it can do so. Everybody gets what they want.

What about a partial reveal? You could stage a situation where her faceplate is shattered and you can see only a quarter of her face, or one eye. Done properly, this would reveal something, but leave room for imagination as well.

I feel that we were cheated somewhat at how Shepard was able to see her face and not we the players, since we ARE Shepard to some degree. I think we deserve to be given that choice for those of us that want it, if only for immersion purposes.

Don't take offense, but if we were going by that logic alone, BioWare would owe us some other things because our Shepard is able to make love in these games ...

I wouldn't say to take it that far, but you have a point. I was just saying it would be nice to know what Shepard knows.

I prefer Bioware shows us faces of another Quarians instead of Tali and let us imagine Tali's face based on the faces of those Quarians

Once a player sees Tali's face due to a dialogue option or plot choice, that image will be blasted across the Web within nanoseconds--vidcaps and screenshots, don't ya know.

Read my post in this thread; I say again, show Tali's face and the Quarians' in general too.

If the devs don't, it shows timidity and a lack of artistic intregity on their part. The writers, artists, and devs are the Gods of the Mass Effect Universe. They, and only they, have the right to determine what Quarians and Tali look like. So they should be honest and commit.

If players don't like it, they'll just have to make the adjustment.
