Once a player sees Tali's face due to a dialogue option or plot choice, that image will be blasted across the Web within nanoseconds--vidcaps and screenshots, don't ya know.

Read my post in this thread; I say again, show Tali's face and the Quarians' in general too.

If the devs don't, it shows timidity and a lack of artistic intregity on their part. The writers, artists, and devs are the Gods of the Mass Effect Universe. They, and only they, have the right to determine what Quarians and Tali look like. So they should be honest and commit.

If players don't like it, they'll just have to make the adjustment.

Since when does the absence of something inevitably mean the lack of integrity?

Have you no imaginiation on your own that you absolutely, positively must have an official design?
That type of argumentation is severely lacking.

It is simple Shepards story will end in ME3 but I'm sure the story will continue (especially if ME3 does as well as ME2). Even then there will probably be another novel within a year afther the release of ME3. And if they haven't shown us a Quarian face by then it's going to be revealed in some book or some comic or some tw show. And it will be far less dramatic. Best to get it over with

The writers went to great lengths to create the Codex: a compendium of knowledge covering the political, cultural, sociological, and technological systems, structures, and processes in the ME universe. All of that information would be available to galactic residents. And yet Shepard doesn't know what Quarians look like? Or the Rachni? Or the Geth?

When Shepard meets Ashley on Eden Prime, he asks her what she knows about the Geth. What does she say? "Only what we learned in school." So there'd be no pictures in the history books of Geth? Or Quarians? Or Rachni? Say what?

In one of the elevator conversations in ME, Ashley tells Tali one general conception is that beneath the suits, Quarians look like the Geth; Tali says no, we don't.  Now, given what Ashley said on Eden Prime, is it reasonable to assume there'd be no pictures of the Creator Race in the history books?  No, it isn't.

What -would've- been honest if Tali was too shy to show her face. Shepard could say something like, "You know, from the picutures of Quarians I've seen, I think they're fascinating. I'd really like to see you without your mask." Then Tali, being the cute badass that she is, could defer until the romance scene. When Shepard removes her mask, we see her face--since he's our avatar in the game, right?  Right.

Not showing Tali's face is a contrived mystery. BioWare backed themselves into this corner; they ought to stride courageously out of it.

The beauty of a Tali romance is how people grow attached to her and so close to her, without seeing any physical attributes other than her body. Usually people pick Ashley, Liara, Miranda because you can see their faces and decide 'who is hotter.' But people automatically grow to Tali without that. That is some great Bioware writing for you.

Tali was my first LI in ME2. I was hacked off when I didn't see her face. And I didn't romance her just so I could see her face; I was drawn to her, like so many others, due to her personality.

My wife, who is not a video gamer but watches me sometimes over my shoulder, loves Tali (and Liara). When she watched the Tali romance scene, even -she- was disappointed that Tali's face wasn't revealed. She said, and I quote, "That's cheesy. That is so lame."

Yes, I understand there are many who dont want to see Tali's face. But as has been said many times, and several times in this thread, not showing it is dishonest and contrived. BioWare just needs to suck it up and show Tali's face.

You do realise that anything BIoWare can come up with will be disapointing when compared to what your own mind already conjured up?

Why can't BW just model her on (a slightly more alien looking) Liz Sroka?

Of -course- I realize I might be disappointed.  I don't say BioWare should give me the -specific image- I want. I say they should give me -the image-.

I'm in the same category as every other player: if I don't like it, I'll just have to make the adjustment.

Epic troll solution by Bioware:

Quarian husks. See, quarians not wearing a mask or a suit!

They're just horribly mutated and cybernetically modified!

EVERYONE WINS

They'd also need to be romance options, to appease ALL the fans.

You could apply to anything about ME3. Every decision they make will please and annoy some of the fan base. All the handringing they're doing over the face reveal just seems to be overkill. It shouldn't even rank in the top 10 of the biggest decisions they have to make in ME3. Especially when they don't seem to be bothered by the fact that a lot of people are going to be pissed when (insert squadmate name here) isn't going to be a permanent member of the squad.

I'd consider Tali's appearance to be one of the loose ends that needs to be tied up by the end of the series. It's not the most important one, but I'd put it slightly above the refund guy.

Well, it was less important before ME2 but then its importance got artificially inflated with the romance and player humiliation by showing it to Shepard. So, now, for some players it could be as important as the origin of reapers.

PS: not all people have an image conjured up until bioware makes the move.

Bioware, follow your own writing, don't let fear compromise who you are!!!

Show the damn thing already and get it over with.

I'm sure BioWare has a vision for what Tali looks like under the visor.
They should stick to their guns and implement that vision.
No matter whats she looks like, she will always be my favorite character in any series so far.
Either way, showing Tali's face or not, I will still play Mass Effect 3 until my hands fall off.

People initially liked Tali for the same reason they liked Miranda: they thought she had a hot body. Even after Mass Effect 1 Tali had a huge fanbase (that was demanding she be a romance option in ME2), even though she was the least developed of the first game's squad members, and her dialogue didn't serve much of a function beyond opening up codex entries for the Quarians. Her popularity was initially based almost entirely on her curves.

IF revealing Tali's face is deemed necessary, I would suggest implementing it thusly:

* Reveal Quarian faces mid-game. Other Quarians. Males, females, children.
*Show many Quarian faces from that point on. Allow the audience to form a basis for facial features.
*Near the endgame, reveal Tali's face, showing a "beautiful" face in the spectrum of her race.

I want to see both the Quarians in general and Tali. I adore her, and it was her personality that made me fall in love with her. I don't think seeing her would possibly make me hate the character that she's been for two games now.

I want to see her face. I know that Bioware will get a lot of stick one way or the other (and I’m admitting that if they don’t show here face they will get some stick from me :)) but I just feel that it’s the last Mass Effect game in this series with these Characters so if we don't see it this time then we never will.
Plus I think it was a very cheap tactic from Bioware to let Shepard see her face but we can't. Have some confidence Bioware. You make some of the best games and characters of all time I am sure you can also make a fantastic design for Tali, don’t be afraid.

I would also like to add that if Tali is revealed, it will all be in the eyes.
