I'm hoping that in ME3 we will have different armors (outfits) for our squadmates available as a part of the core game, rather than just DLC packages.
Maybe even some stat changes included in them as well.
Armor variants for squadmates.

"Hell,Garrus, you were always ugly.Slap some face-paint on there, and no one will even notice"
...and so he did
(That's what I would like, being able to put different face-paints on Garrus)

I suspect they will be upgradable like in ME2 for Shepard rather than completely different types like in ME1.
Hopefully, they will come in Light, Medium and Heavy flavours. Possible with class restrictions or power unlocks depending on type.

Personally I would love to see squad armor customization on par with Shepard's of ME2, but that doesnt seem likely.
Do we even know what exactly "face-paint" is? I always assumed it was more like a permanent tattoo...since they are supposed to be clan markings.

I'm okay with the only armour available as long as it will be proper, fully-sealable, realistic armour and squadmates would have a casual outfit to wear on Normandy.

I'm hoping we'll get classic armors at least. For example:
Default Garrus ME3 armor.
Turian Rebel ME2 armor
C-Sec agent ME1 armor.
If we could customize the colors, that would be great.

Considering the CE image already shows alternative appearance packs for Liara and James Vega I wouldnt expect to much in ways of customisation for you squad mates. Maybe a couple more outfits. Certainly not customisable to Shepards level.
I hope they have more variety of course! I just think Bioware will be sticking with the ME2 system from what has been shown so far.

i hope each squad members will have 3 different type of armors, not only appearance but also in functionality which gives them bonuses or better in one style than the other, for example:
Tali - one that is best for tech, one is best for combat, and one for the mix of the previous two
Liara - one for biotic, one for combat, one the mix of those
if Miara is squadmate - one for combat and biotic, one for combat and tech, one for tech and biotic (because she was diverse enough in combat), or one for mainly biotic and tech, one for combat, one for the mix of those
etc...
also it wouldn't be bad if colour could be changed, if you not like the default painting.
plus the armors could be upgraded by 3-5 levels (minimal-medium appearance changes and power up) AND modified by 3-5 mods (like the guns, minimal appearance changes and power up).
so each character could wear 3 different armor, which maybe isn't too hard to program and design (think back to ME1), but with different functionality for different play style + level up for armors + mods + changeable colours
each armor or upgrade or mods could be found at levels or stores.
i think that would be sufficent.
