 So yeah, I got a comment on my youtube video ( Liara Romance scene after shadow broker) which can be found here

And I have to say I couldn't agree more, Liara seems the be the only viable Love Interest in the whole series, the one that will mean the most, especially with her making the appearance in ME2 with the Shadow Broker DLC and Kaiden and Ashley not having the same impact, Even without the DLC you still had more of an interaction with Liara. It just seems bioware really push Liara to be your romance option and like bobizzle1605 said, Its very hard not to romance her.

Eh, if Liara is the only true romance option of the game, then my Shepard will be forever alone. I don't like her romance at all, or Liara all that much.

I see Ashley as a way more multi-dimensional female character and love interest.

Due to the different choices in the Mass Effect universe you can't label one romance option as the only true one. There is no such thing.

Personaly for you maybe like Ashley is my personal only true romance option.

It is clear that Bioware's favorite is Liara but that doesn't make her the canon LI for the story. The story and our choice of LI is our own and we decide our own canon.

I am getting sick and tired of all this Liara favoritism from Bioware.

Wrex is the obvious answer... sure, they don't act on it (Because Wrex would destroy poor Shepard.) but, anyone who doesn't see the love is blind to Aphrodite's whim.

the only time I ever felt like a romance option was being pushed on me was when dialogue options were floating over Miranda's ass. Other than that, no, all romance options are equally valid. I was never fond of Liara's personally- she seemed to 'develop feelings' for Shepard ridiculously fast.

That was not my intention. I must have said it wrong.

All I am saying is that I am seeing things differently because I created another story for my Shepard. I am happy for anyone who likes characters that I don't. It is just human nature that we disagree on certain things and not all like the same thing.

Liara is my favorite LI and possibly character(as you can see by my profile picture), but I wouldn't call her "the only true romance option in the game". Garrus and Tali's romance was also really good.

Not this thread again. I like Liara as much as the next guy but claiming her to be the true LI is wrong. Your LI is one who you choose. And though Liara is the best romance she is not the cannon LI.

Though the only romance that BEATS ALL OTHER ROMANCE IS


SHEPARDxTHANIX CANNON best romance period. I'd sure tap those guns.

The fact that if it werent for her effort, Shepard would still be dead, makes me love her all the more. It is VERY hard not to romance her.

You would rather have Shepard be in collector hands?  Or rebuilt by Cerberus.  She didn't betrayed Shepard, or I don't think so.  If anyone betrayed Shepard at that point it is the Alliance, they didn't even bother to recover Shepard's body.

I agree with the sentiment that bioware has, intentionally or not, dedicated an unequal number of resources to the different romances, and that the Liara one is right now (thanks to the shadow broker dlc) ahead of the rest. I think it is a matter of time until another character gets more screen time and the cycle start again. I am hoping that eventually bioware does not focus too much on a few ones and try to give enough resources to each one to have a fair resolution of each romance plot in ME3.

I'd rather ME2 never happened the way it did.

Besides I would rather have my Shepard being dead than in Cerberus's or the Collector's hands. He could have been cremated.

I roleplay ME2 as if Shepard died during the Prologue and the destruction scene of my beloved Normandy (the SR-2 can't come even close to her) and I am now playing an inferior Cerberus clone.
