So I embarked on a quest, to largely solo the game with a dual wield warrior, now going against the norm I created my version of a build, each level I put 1 point into strength, dex, and con, I know most people prefer either all dex or all strength, but this seems to be working quite well. I find myself cruising through levels that I would normally find difficult during a standard party play game. The thing that really stands out is that you can make more tactical and intelligent choices during game while soloing, and that is where the fun really is. Hiding around a corner waiting on an arcane horror to step through, or leading your opponets on a wild goose chase to seperate them and pick them off a few at a time. There is a few difficult spots where you don't have much room to maneuver, but whenever you have the terrain to your advantage, nothing much can stand against you one on one. I dual wield with a sword and dagger, and to seperate my opponets I use a bow to strike at range, I noticed how attacking at range usually brings only 1 or 2 opponets to chase you. This is much more preferable to having a full party, I take only 1 character at a time with me for their background story quests, but the rest of the game I'm soloing, basically at the end game I'll have recruited everybody to fight in denerim, and will have the usually super gear for them to help out, but largely their not along for the ride. I did notice reading on here that equipping your weapons with resistances instead of elemental damage runes is better. I have found that to be very true, nothing makes me smile more than to see my warrior have a resisted sighn above his head.

yeah, nightmare mode is truly the way to go, for that extra funness, it feels to me a little like cheating to have your enemies limited by the game in easier modes.

Indeed, try going no pots too. Reaver only the blood of your enemies shall sustain you.

thats pretty hardcore.
