Also, good for Thane, the one male character whose entire outfit was designed solely to make him sexually attractive without any thought given to practicality or protection.

Jacob too.

Jacob is more of a borderline case. I didn't mention him because he still has those thick metal shoulders (and his don't even have holes in them!) and plating on his chest. Also, he isn't revealing any skin.

EDIT: Oh, and his outfit is made slightly more appropriate by the 'biotics wear lighter armor' rule of thumb. So yeah, I wouldn't call Jacob blatantly sexualized in the same vein as Thane and most of the women.

She's actually an anticerberus weapon, no matter they are indoctrinated. They will stare at her while Shep delivers bullets.

WTF, I thought Bioware said her catsuit was just her normandy outfit =_= she looks so stupid, I mean c'mon Kaidan has more armour than her!

Unfortunatley, it will distract Shepard too.

This was a recurring problem he had back in Mass Effect 1 as well:

He's the masculine equivalent of Miranda. Broad shouldered in a tight package-hugging body suit, and Bioware takes every opportunity to remind the player of Jacob's perfect abs. Jacob is definitely a sexualized character.

An armored Jacob would be... well, Armored Jacob:

The other female characters also fit the "biotics/techs wear lighter armor" rule of thumb. Ashley is the first exception. What's also curious is that Kaiden is heavily/masculinely armored. It's sexism both ways. When it comes down to it, Bioware is pandering to the crowd who thinks romances are the entire point of Bioware games.

I don't get it. Isn't the reason why Biotics wear light armour because they can back up the lack of armour with biotic barriers?

Kaiden is a biotic and seems to be wearing more armour.

Ashley is not a biotic. So.. she basically just sacrificed armour for.. style?

How come enemy troops always wear armor, regardless of class? I also think it's strange that all the women in my squad don't wear armor, even Ashley the HEAVY ARMOR class, yet even Adept and Engineer enemies wear armor as heavy as it gets...

If the excuse is "Well, the enemies are mooks, and squadmates need to stand out." then... why do most of the male squadmates wear heavy armor, even if they're supposed to be the lightest geared class?

Ashley's outfit reminds me of costumes for women from 50's space movies. "Of course women will dress like this in the 23rd century."

You don't have to sexualise a character in order to focus on a romance. Ashley and Liara and Kaiden wore appropriate outfits and armour in ME1 and we had three great romances. Sexualising them caters to people looking for eye candy, not a heartfelt romance

Wow, something's quite wrong with Kaidan's face.  His eyes seem too small and his overall face is drooping.  What's up with those drooping cheeks and the circular outline of his mouth?  Looks like monkey mouth.

Vega is just butt-ugly ugly.  Seriously, who came up with him?  Big ugly nose, big ugly lips, big ugly ears, all on a rectangular face.  And the hair, tlhat hair!  God that's ugly!

Ashley looks like and like something out of the first 3D animated movies back in the 90's.  Totally fake, dollish looking face.

Liara looks like Liara.  I don't see what people are complaining about.

I just notices that Ashley has some kind of bird icon on her left chest side, and vega has, what I believe to be a knight icon.

Noticed that after reading this as well. James Vega has a jousting knight on an armored horse, Ash has an eagle (or some sort of bird of prey), but I can't seem to make out what Kaiden's is. Perhaps they represent a symbol for each of Earth's nations or military branches?

No. Just responding to a posted image. It's worth bringing up any issues now when the game is still in development rather than after we have the game and little can be done.

I love ME games, pretty confident I'll love this too, but on the offchance devs look at this stuff, it's worht voicing criticisms if we have them

Hmmm...Kaidan in Kestrel armor? That doesn't look bad actually. Ashley in a miniskirt and knee high boots? That must be the dinner date outfit she references in ME1. James Vega? Since we have seen only this picture of him and Bioware already said he would be like a line backer. So I'll reserve my judgement about him. Liara as a justicar? Ummm...enough with the personality shifting. First she is a archeologist, then a information broker, then the Shadow Broker, and finally a Justicar.

If that's James Vega, he's pretty gross. Seriously, really gross. His armour is pretty great though. Kaidan's armour is also nice, and while at first glance I thought the asari was Samara, I can see it's Liara and I really like her armour -- it's got that asari cultural headdress thing and a little bit of style whilst still looking like it can handle a bullet or five. I think that direction is moreso what they ought to go for with Ashley.

Ashley looks a little like a space cheerleader and that she ought to be pushing pencils and not pumping lead. Her high heels are just ridiculous as is the skirt and the overall lack of plating. How is this girl going to survive under heavy fire? She's not. Ashley is a rough-and-tumble soldier. She's beauty hidden underneath layers of badass, and some of these layers are supposed to be moderately form-fitting ass kickery gear. She doesn't look like a soldier and that's where my problem with that lies.
