uh..LAzuli just because there are strippers in ME that does not mean the game is low brow. It is how their presence in the game is handled that makes a game low brow (like, I don't know duke nuke'em) or high brow

You're right.  But it's not that she's a stripper, it's that she's asari.  As far as I'm concerned, if you have sexy blue space-babes that want to bone anything with a pulse, you've pretty much lost any hope of being high brow.  Maybe it's just me.

Enjoy Mass Effect for what it is.  It's not the sort of entertainment that takes a degree and a half to appreciate.

Asari were an homage to an 80's stereotype

Other alien "romances" have been handled in a much different way (tali, Garrus, Thane)

Bioware gave players Choice which is what they have been asking for when it comes to romances, the existence of choiuce is neither good nor bad, it's what you do with it that counts. If you do nothing but try to bone EVERYTHING in the game then YOU (general you, not you "you" Lazuli) are making YOUR experience with the game low brow. If you use the choice given to you to create your story the way you feel is best for you, creating the right emotional engagement or investement in the characters you like most and thus enjoying the game more then power to you.

Nice that that Vincent Vega bloke isn't another tiresome male model in space, wonder if he has lost an eye. Eye-eye commander Shepard.

I really dig Kaidan's medium-to-high armor.
Vega's ugly and his hair doesn't help.

And you just KNOW something's wrong when the blue skinned fanservice token girl with plotshield has a more armored look than the frontline badass, ass kicking and taking names marine girl.

Your reductive assertion of the Asari aside, have you played Legion's loyalty mission?
Independent of these rather worrying designs, Mass Effect does feature passages which are positively sublime.

I didn't use Miranda as squad mate before the armour DLC and Samara still look so ridiculous with that ****** suit that she can rot in the space ship until she finds proper suit somewhere. "Hey look, my chest is bare! Shoot here!" Liara's suit is border line...

Nothing wrong with sex appeal.

She had sex appeal in ME1 when I romanced her. But I understand if you think having sex appeal means looking retarded.

And masturbating is good for the mind.

Buying Mass Effect to ****** at the dolls. That makes splendid sense, man.

Really, grow up. You act like Ash is wearing a bikini or something. I don't like the look, either, but it's not that bad.

And I do really hope these aren't the poses in the load out screen. ME1 nailed this.

Yaaaaa... Until a BioWare employee confirms that these are legit, I am going to assume that these were set up in Max or Poser (which would be very easy to do).

If you look at the ME3 CE, both Liara and Vega are the same as in the photo posted here.

OMG, you're right.. I hadn't paid much attention to that.
OK, BioWare, I am disappoint.

Apparently, we're being reduced to the lowest common denominator in what concerns female wardrobe (ie. 14 yeard old boys just now hitting puberty).

I mean, it's not that I *don't* like Ash's new look, it's that it's just absolutely ridiculous for her to wear a mini skirt, thigh-high heeled boots an exposed chest (like you said "Hey, shoot here!" sign) and garters during combat situations... It's dumb.

The thing is, I find you can argue for Samara's outfit as A) being part of a challenge to potential wrongdoers (do your best, my heart is exposed, etc.) and B) being some kind of Asari custom. They are an alien race, and as such, it would only be logical that they have different perceptions of propriety and similar.

Yes, obviously it's working on a level intended to be attractive to the player as well, but I think you'd be doing the design and character a disservice by allowing that to dominate your impression.

Miranda's is also arguably consistent with her characterisation. Why Ashley's new look is such a problem is that it is thoroughly inconsistent.

Liara is wearing what Samara should have warn in ME2. It looks like light armor which based on what we know about Asari commandos would be more fitting.

I don't think the outfits are too bad, for an alt costume that comes with the collectors edition. Plus, I don't think ash's outfit is supposed to be a skirt. It looks more like the jacket dress blues of a female officer to me.

We have to keep in mind that a lot of things will still change...
ME3 is still a year away and Bioware can still make changes. They just need to fix James Vega's stupid expression and remove Liara's tiara ad will be a lot better...

I'd be fine with Ash's outfit if it was indeed some kind of off-battle dress uniform. However, the shoulders, knees, and the fact that she's holding a gun tell me otherwise.

I've never bought costume DLC's anyway, so as long as she is wearing the proper armor in the actual game, I'm happy. It's just worrying that this is the direction they've taken, even with our women in the military.

Me it makes me laugh. Especially since this is not the only suit and they know it. They do what they want after all. Too bad for them. ^_^
