I can't believe people are whining about something like this. THESE ARE COLLECTOR EDITION EXCLUSIVE ARMORS! They're a bonus, AND they're optional! *** hell, this forum.

stop

think back about ME2's alternative outfits (aside for Miranda's), think back about the In-Game shots we have of Ash

apologize for acting obtuse

Yeah, Grunt's outfit was totally out of line.  I mean, if you think about it, he's only a baby.

aged and imprinted with the knowledge of an adult. Your point fails.

his outfit was one of those that made sense aside for the open arms

I was being facetious.  You might want to check your statements before jumping down someone's throat, even if they deserve it.

when you deal with (some) obtuse people on these forums you try to stop reading sarcasm or humor in their posts because most of the time they are being dead serious

I apologize

All this Visors and Head Stuff is... terrible. I hope standart outfits don't have them.

Uhm, what? These are not the alternative outfits. These are the exclusives that comes with the CE of the game. What are you trying to say? And why would I apologize?

you do realize that they look exactly like the in game outfits we've seen in demos and promotional materials already... just iddferent colors?

now compare it to alternate packs for ME2 where outfits are DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT from their in game counterparts?  these outfits (and for that matter weapons) are not exclusive by a long shot, unless you think that changing a tint of something makes it exclusive?

The Liara outfit doesn't look like the her Shadow Broker outfit that she wore in the E3 demos.

it the same costume just a different color.these are CE dlc costumes.

*facepalm* you're right :P

Still, I like the looks of these outfits. I'll keep out of this thread from now on.

Ooof. I really hope the OP pic was just concept... Ashley looks to be wearing the exact sort of thing she mocks in ME1. Thigh-highs and a mini-skirt. =/

Vega looks like a complete douche. Football player faux-hawk and ridiculous armour.

These are concepts (so may not be final) of the weapons and appearances available in the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3. They were given out to a bunch of retailers some time ago. I guess they weren't called out previously as they are not final and maybe the retailers didn't want to show art that wasn't final?

That facepalm worthy getup Liara is in, is plastered all over the marketing materials for the Pre-Order, on the EA store site. If its not final, why is it being used in that capacity?

I'd also like to know this too.
Perhaps it's placeholder until the final designs are put up?

This.

Want.

Ashley is a soldier, not a biotic, she can't get away with wearing clothes on a battlefield. She uses armour. End of.

good stuff all around, though Vega looks like he has Jacob syndrome - oddly wide chest, tiny arms.

only people on this board could **** about alternate costumes - ALTERNATE costumes - included in a collectors edition. it's really kind of amazing.

That is very good to know.  Very, very good to know.

Here's hoping that the feedback on this thread gets taken into account when the "final" concepts are drawn up.

Edit:  particularly the stuff with Ash in Kaidan-style armor   Hot, yet functional. ;)

Kaidan looks awesome.
Ash, doesn't look like Ash, that outfit goes against what she says regarding combat attire in ME1.
Vega looks slightly silly, he seems to be missing his neck.
Liara, retex of the battle-lab coat with dodgy eyebrow decoration, I think I'll stick to her default appearance.

The N7 guns look pretty cool though!

Some quotes from Ashley herself...

"I’m more inclined to stick with nice solid armor and a big gun"

"If you expect to see me in a tin-foil mini skirt and thigh-high boots, I want dinner first"

Then again, we've also had Shepard refer to someone older than him/her as a "good kid", so....yeah...clearly continuity isn't always considered =/

The problem is that when Ashley's new outfit was revealed ("Earth" demo), people hoped that this is her casual look. To prove/discard this point, a picture of Kaidan in similar situation was needed. and what we see now? Fully armoured Kaidan... and Ashley in the almost same outfit. So there's almost no hope left that this may be her casual look, hence all storm

Want some feedback? Here.

Kaidan? Good. Don't know why he chose for medium armour but OK.
Ashley? Like many has said, doesn't fit her personality. But who knows how  she changed. But at least it looks better than Miranda's ridiculous catsuit. Could use some more work on the V-neck thingie.
Vega? Reminds me of Jack from the Tekken series. Hope he hasn't the same personality.
Liara? Red doesn't suit her. And take away the tiara. She's not Samara.

As for the weapons? They all look like the Phalanx, Locust and Eviscerator with the N7 logo slapped on it. I wouldn't call it original. I can't identify the sniper rifle. Looks a bit like the Incisor, so could use a bit of work.

Because we send out the material with what is ready when it is needed. If we had waited to have final art before soliciting pre-orders, people would still be waiting and the announcement would not have been made at E3. Once the final art is finished, sites will be updated.

It is all a question of timing.

Have you not seen other games or toys, statues, comics, etc with "not final art" when solicited? I buy a copy of Previews magazine every month to help me plan what to buy for upcoming comics and toys and there is always materials liek that inside. It is what is done in the industry.

The fact James Vega's hair isn't final makes this group's work much more important:

Give James Vega a Haircut
