Am I the only one who thinks wearing full body armor into a gunfight is a ridiculous idea? You guys do realize that IRL, armor is heavy and uncomfortable even though it only covers your chest and back, while only providing minimal protection. If you're lucky, it will stop one bullet, afterwards it is rendered useless. Kevlar helmets are almost entirely for show. Better mobility is far more important than covering yourself in armor, especially in the Mass Effect universe where shields are your primary defense anyway.

I don't think a skintight miniskirt and heels do much for mobility either.

Even if they aren't actually garters, they're still fairly blatant visual suggestions of them so it's irrelevant.

The problem with any rationalization of the outfit is Ashley explicitly states a preference for heavy armor in an elevator banter.

It's part of her coat. You can see the seam for the zipper.

Let me get this straight, the Lightly armored Kaiden has a more serious suit of armor then Ashley, who used to wear Heavy Armor?

Whatever the person who is designing Ashley is on, take him off it immediately!


Ashley is my Virmire Survivor and one of my all-time favorite Squadmates, but if this is how she's going to dress during battle, I'll be too embarrassed to take her anywhere!

Actually it would, considering that full body armor would be signifigantly heavier than her outfit as is. That "skirt" if you want to call it that (I think it's way too short to really be a skirt) wouldn't restrict her movement as much as armor would either. Although I do agree that heels wouldn't be the best thing to bring into battle, to put it very mildly.

I'm good with how they look. They are alternate uniforms so they can be changed if people don't like them but I think they look good. In a clip I saw on IGN it showed Shepard jumping into the Normandy and a couple people are covering him and one was a women whom spoke to him but I can't clearly hear the voice actor because IGN is talking over her and I couldn't make out the face because her gun and her hair was a little in the way but from the look of this pic it is clearly Ash and I'm sure I was the last to figure that out.

I really didn't even notice the garters until someone mentioned it. Ermm, well, I just hope that my femShep's armor is a little more like the guys' armor.
