No, but it is stating it clearly and emphatically.

Really? I'd say it looks nice, but I wouldn't say sexy....

Yes. 3 years has a huge impact on how bullets affect armor...

Sorry, when Bioware goes pinup with their heroines, I'm going to call them on it. You'll have to deal with the 'crying'. :)

Shield amplifying armor? Looks like conduits on her shoulders.

If you ask me in the the best case scenario everyone would be wearing catsuits. :innocent:

A little recolor so she doesn't look exactly like Kaidan. I started making the lines pink but it was a bit ridiculous and red looked better to me.

I quite like her 'new look' on the whole, but that is quite awesome. Pretty much spot on to what I would like to see from an alternate outfit for her. It would be even better if she started with that and had the lighter armor as an alternate in fact.

I mean that set makes her ME1 armor look like a catsuit.

Where appropriate every companion should have a choice between heavy or light/medium armor using the outfit system in my opinion. Rather than just a re-skin. I actually prefer the idea of the outfit system over the conventional way of equipping companions, but it only reaches it's full potential if time is devoted to giving each companion an alternate appearance that is actually visually very different from the standard outfit.

The light armor may have unforeseen benefits. Maybe it's a prototype armor: all you have is a picture and preconceived notions that have been violated so you're pissed.

Sooo...how come Kaidan doesn't get the hookup with this sweet new prototype armor?

Kaidan, Vega, and Shepard should be in the same light armor with unforseen benefits, then, no?

Yes they should, actually I don't care about Vega but MShep really should have the option cause I'm tired of my Adepts and sentinels having to dress like tanks.

It's not really a matter of what you personally find sexy.  It's a matter that everything about her look change is a stereotype of what is generally perceived to be sexy.

Honestly, I would probably be giving Ash's outfit more of a "benefit of the doubt" if Kaidan was ALSO wearing a catsuit. But Kaidan is armored up like he's expecting a real fight, and his specialization in ME1 made him unable to wear all but light armor. So why is Kaidan wearing medium armor, and Ashley—who could wear heavy armor in ME1—wearing what looks to be a civilian outfit?

Pretty much this.

You think people are going to shut the hell up after the game comes out? Are you new here?

No, just wish people would. Too many feelings and ticks in the game that people complain about. Nobody's a big picture person anymore...<_<

No one likes Kaidan's he's a silly whiny whimpy man person type thing.  They didn't give him the super sweet super armor because they hate him and that girl from brain camp.

Maybe he does! And maybe because he's a "big strong man" he can run around with more weight at the same speeds.

Kaidan being able to waer only ligh armor in Mass Effect and Ashley being one of two crew members capable of wearing heavy armors there... makes perfect sense to give Kaidan a plate armor and Ashley a light one.

LETS DO IT BIOWARE!

I'm with you on this. If the ME-universe had normally depicted MALES AND FEMALES alike going into combat-situations wearing catsuits and open-collars that leave nothing to the imagination, then I'd have no fuss about this. Everybody's sexy, everybody's ridculous, everybody's exploited.

But oh, wait. We'd have a bunch of sad guys screaming about having to look at exposed sexualized male bodies.

So instead we get a typical cop-out scenario of women singled-out to be sex-toys at the expense of their safety and viability as fighters.

Wedge heels.
Garters.
Thigh-highs.
Miniskirt (or miniskirt-evoking shirt).
Lower cut neckline.
Longer hair.
Chest "armor" that forms tightly around the boobs.

The suit might have passed for 'sexification'...40 years ago. Today? Today, you have to go a little further before we starting getting into sexplotation territory. At least cleavage.

You might want to check your spelling there. And no, not necessarily. Kaidan and Ashley can't be in the same game, Vega is not a Spectre, and Shepard's Spectre status is choice dependent. It could be Spectre supplied. I pulled this off the top of my head and quite honestly BioWare will do the same. They'll somehow explain it in-game and you'll accept it.

Right.  Pick on the typos.  Solid argument, there.

So what you're implying is that, for some reason, if Ashley is alive, someone thinks up this super special Light Spectre Armor that is Even Better Than The Real Thing, because ... of whatever reason?

Still, Shepard should get the same type of super special Light Spectre Armor if s/he reinstated as a Spectre, no?

Maybe if you don't take character design seriously. They wouldn't have put those things there if the outfit wasn't intended to inspire sex appeal. The problem people have with it isn't that its too sexy or obscene, just that it's too sexy at the expense of utility for a character like Ashley.

If the Quarians helped develop stronger shields I expect my Shepard to be able to wear civilian clothes that are equipped with the same technology.  I will not deal with last year's model if everyone on my ship has next years.  I mean Kaidan is...well I guess he's wearing this year's model isn't he?  Foolish 'kid'.

Well that makes sense. Women can't wear armor unless they're a cyborg (FemShep) or a bad person.

Huh.

Depends on who's being sexied up, how coherent it is with the character, and what is the purpose behind. As far as our available information lets us know for the moment, Ashley is not the ideal candidate for it.

Some men can't either. Jacob was wearing a catsuit.
