You'll be pleased to know that BioWare LISTENS to our feedback, at least, they SAY they do. So it's not pointless. We just want BioWare to know that amidst all the omni-blades, Kinect commands, customizable weapon mods, and rolling into cover, many of us do actually care about the CHARACTERS, and we want those characters to have a consistent through-line in the narrative. If that bothers you, I'd suggest sticking to threads that don't discuss such things. I'm sure the weapon mod threads are rather peaceful by comparison. But coming into a thread complaining about the complaining? Yeah, you might not want to call someone else "dumb"...
I was also trying to prove that there is no point in complaining.
Which would have been fine, if you'd actually successfully DONE that. You didn't.
I just showed that there IS a point in "complaining". And all you did was state that CHud had made some random tweet that addressed the topic. Sorry, but that's hardly a compelling rejoinder. Casey Hudson's idea of "armor" and my idea of "armor" might not be the same thing. I want Hudson to know that putting men in bulky getups that make them look like Transformers, while putting women in sleek stewardess outfits, is really not in keeping with the Mass Effect universe many of us have come to know and love. Whether the soulless Marketing types prod the creative team to make these changes or not, somebody has to champion the story and characters of this franchise, because not everyone who wants to play ME3 is a 13-year-old boy who's never played the first two games. If they want to give Ashley a Marketing Tramp outfit, fine, but give ME the option of a Real Ashley outfit, so I don't spend the whole game constantly reminded that a bunch of children are playing this game that I've come to care so much about.

This will just go on and on forever won't it? For the love of god can Bioware just please release some new information so everyone can move on from this Ashley's new appearance claptrap because it is seriously getting old.
Please you don't know anything about the style change it could be none combative gear and she's holding the gun because someone in the Bioware Art Department thought it looked good. Just wait for god damn information before you start yelling from the roof tops that it's not what Ash would wear.
Oh wait I forgot it's BSN where everyone cries foul at every new bit of information.

Yep nothing to worry about. She's not really wearing a mini skirt, wedge heels, and thigh high boots during a Reaper attack

What the hell?
Did you not read ANY of my posts before that? And I just realized you are a damn hypocrite. I've seen you complain about people complaining about s/s romance. But if I do it about this, it's somehow wrong????
And even if that's what she's wearing, It's not a tramp outfit. That's a overreaction. It's not anything similar to Miranda's catsuit at ALL. In my opinion, it helps with the sci-fi feel of Mass Effect. It looks sci-fi ish. Also, it's probably a part of the sex sells marketing strategy if it is for sex appeal (which I don't find to be particularly sexy, just nice), which by the way, works EVERY F***ING TIME. If you want something to complain about, complain about that.

Couldn't have said it better myself Sian. Bottom line, if you don't care about the story and the characters it's easy to misinterpret what's going on in this thread as complaining. Until someone (with credibility) tells me that what we talk about here is NOT seen by Bioware, I will continue to voice my opinion on the things that (as a fan of this trilogy) matter to me.

Not really, as s/s romance is optional and for all we know right now, these outfits are not optional.
I don't think anyone cares about this outfit as long as there's an alternate option to put Ash in armor.

Casey Hudson is welcome to SHOW ME any time he wants. A vaguely reassuring tweet isn't good enough. Until I SEE something, I'm going to express my concerns about what I'm SEEING in the meantime.

Next question: What's his definition of "armor"?
Kaidan's ourfit?
Vega's heavy armor?
Or maybe this AA outfit for Ash is "armor" and thus the statement is technically accurate "from a certain point of viiew"
Or maybe Samara's outfit from ME2 is "armor".

I really want Respect for all the characters specially the female characters.why do they always get slu77y outfits that are consider armor just because of a few stat points that alter time/space/physics(shields/bio/tech:abilities).i want the female characters to have real armor and not be DLC......

Please. Your constant worship of the character's decisions as if she were real and free-thinking on her own is a weak deflection from the fact that she's been made this way by a team of 99% sexist males catering to other sexist males even at the cost of undermining this formerly strong female character. Denying that there's exploitation against women here. It's convenient for you to make excuses for their misogyny because, to paraphrase, you've actually said this Ashley doesn't qualify as "sexy enough."
So because they give her an attracive appearance, they are sexist? That's dumb.
So as long as she's constantly exposed for titllation even on the battlefield then you value her. Except she's still not being exposed enough for you. That's dumb.

This is the type of thing Ashley would wear! (maybe a little less bulky than that) NOT skirts and garters and heels.... good lord.
The more I see these pictures the more I want this to be her new look.

Especially the 1st reply left me quite curious because based on Ashley's role, appearance and behaviour, I would have made the same assumption as kcstrzesynski did. I wonder, is it shield that is supposed to give her the advantage over Kaiden and allow her to wear much less (and less practical) armor? Is it something else? If so will it be (properly) explained in the game?
Since the 2nd reply talks about vision, I presume (or rather hope), that there is more to it and that Ashley's new artistic vision will be compatible with her ingame role... and... that the change was worth it.

Kaidan looks like a badass in his new armor.
James Vega looks like a caricature of a badass in his armor.
Liara looks like she's embarrassed to be wearing such an obvious ripoff of Samara's outfit.
Ashley looks like she's wearing a tunic, tights, and thigh-high boots.
Do anyone see the consistency aspect of what I'm talking about here?

Vega clearly exist for Marketing reasons as well.
"Hey little boy! Yeah you! You've never played a Mass Effect™ game before, but here's James Vega™—and this guy is just like you! He's muscular to the point of immobility, he's got Douche Face™, and he's got a hairstyle only a pre-teen would think was cool. So come along, little guy, and play Mass Effect 3™, now available on XBox 360™, PlayStation 3™, and PC!"
"And hey little boy, just in case you've already hit puberty, here's Ashley™, a sexy minx who helps Commander Shepard™ defeat the bad guys! And if you're a really good little boy, we'll show you Tali™, whose hips will induce puberty if it hasn't happened to you already."
Yes, BioWare, you're that transparent sometimes.
Goes for Kaidan too. They "butched him up" lest their precious target audience be disturbed by a "soft" human male.
That being said, Kaidan's changes are far less insulting than the ones made to Ashley.
