I honestly don't think Vega looks bad at all. I mean, it doesn't look like he's one window lick away from colouring books for christmas. He simply looks very "Semper F&#@!ng Fi !"

My guess is that the N7 assault rifle is already in the main game.

They have some of the best art and character design in the business.

Their character design is rediculous. Every female in any Capcom game is a sex object in heels and showing as much skin as they can get away with. Even Lost Planet has the chick showing her boob cleavage in the middle of a goddamn blizzard.

Capcom is about as cheap and low-brow as you can get. They're a guilty pleasure, not anything classy.

I disagree completely. Sheva all the way.

I think slim is simply stating that the artists are talented. The art and design direction though leaves alot to be desired.

Talk about losing all creds when you use Capcom as the superior example of character design over Bioware.

Bet I digress since I'm probably misreading your post, slim.

There's a few talented individual in the biz, it's the direction of how these talents are used that is the problem.

Even then, Bioware > Capcom when it comes to design of females.

I think you're missing Slimgrin's point. It's not the what, it's the how. Given the right art direction, Capcom's artists could create great character models. Sure the art direction in RE5 was pretty ridiculous at times (Excella Gionne, anyone?) but even in those cases, it was beautifully rendered ridiculousness.

Well I don't think anyone was saying Ashley looked ugly. I guess they were saying that about Vega, but he still looks good. He looks human. I consider that good design if they look natural.

Chris is really bad design because in RE5 he does not look like an actual human being. He's a ****ing freak.

I disagree. I think Sheva is prettier than any BioWare female, though Samara comes very close.

With that theory in mind here's a scenario:

Soldier Ashley wearing plate >>>> Gets Spectre training >>>> Becomes an infiltrator
Sentinel Kaidan wearing light >>>> Gets Spectre training >>>> Becomes a front line soldier

Do you see the problem? It just smacks of gender disparity and if it isn't I'm really hoping for a decent explanation, unless we get evidence that these armors really don't matter and we can put them in anything we want.

I don't think it's strictly out of character for either Kaidan to be wearing heavy armor (yeah he was a sentinel, but aside from a rather arbitrary class distinction about what sentinels can wear, does he have some philosophical opposition to heavy armor?) or for Ashley to progress to ME3 as an infiltrator. I did say the specific outfit was out of character, but the notion of her wearing light armor in general? Not necessarily.

For both of those changes (arguable whether Kaidan's is much of a change) to be present at the same time, does that make it obviously enforcing gender stereotypes? I suppose it's a possibility. But I wouldn't say it's a certainty.

Whoa I wouldn't go so far as to say that Sian.. I think Ashley is far more beautiful, however I think her and Sheva could be sisters. And.. you are entitled to your opinion of course.

His body does. His head on a more appropriately-sized body would be amazing. And Sheva doesn't look like a freak at all. She even has realistic-sized breasts.

I can't respect Sheva because the only reason she is in the game is due to pandering to hysterical morons who called the early demo's of the game racist.

Can I just point out that the character classes and the arbitrary restrictions on what armor they can and cannot wear in ME1 is only valid from a meta-gaming perspective? These are just gameplay mechanics. They have no bearing on the actual universe.

There is no reason why Kaidan can't wear thick-looking armor just because his in-game class was restricted to light armor. Especially since ME2 threw out the idea of armor classes.

Ooookay.

Not talking about characterization either. Not talking about anything but the quality of the artwork.

If they reduced the size of his lips he would actually be pretty attractive.

His mouth doesn't bother me as much as his pig nose does.

His I'm-too-stupid-to-tie-my-shoes (confused look) look bothers me the most. Although if they can make him come off as endearing it might be alright.
