Okay. It still doesn't make much sense to bring it up then, if your essential position is that whatever they might have said previously doesn't necessarily matter.Filament wrote...
I listed that as a response to people contending heavy armor is out of character for him, following their own logic. Following my logic, if he did have a philosophical objection to heavy armor, but also had character development, then heavy armor would also be in character for him.

Didn't Cpt. McTavish have this mohawk style?

Aren't these repulsive things out of style yet? Out of the mall and into the bin.

Ashley: I haven't read many of the other replies here, but I'm sure there's b-- uh, well, complaining.
Liara: Interesting choice... She bears quite a resemblance to Samara in this outfit/color scheme.
James: I just think it's disturbing that some folks here were checking out his package...

I still find their shifts to stereotyping somewhat disappointing.
I mean its not going to ruin the game for me, but its just - a step backwards personally.

Well, since everyone is getting their opinions out in the open... (What can I say, I'm bored and in need of ME3 news).
I like Kaidan's and surprisingly this Vega dude. This is the first time I ever saw his face and he looks quite young like the description said out to be. Um... I don't watch this 'Jersey Shore' so I have no idea nor am I willing to look for it since I'm getting some bad vibes/connotations.
I know some people have opinions of Kaidan's armor, but I say why can't sentinels have some medium armor to look cool? So yay for Kaidan. I have to say 'lol' at some pink gorilla pictures of Vega many posts back. Haha.
To comment on all four characters on their alternate appearance, I say 'yay' that they got some personality to them. That's a plus, right? Ashley can retain her iconic color scheme and others look quite formidable. Remember the game is still in progress and things can change.
Though I have to interject... I thought the tiara Liara is wearing is a justicar uniform or am I just speculating here? Or is it an asari fashion as some guess? Just a thought. Maybe we'll find out in ME3. *shrugs*
Haha. One more thing... when I saw Ashley... I thought she became jealous of Miranda because suddenly her breast, in my opinion, grew in size.

Indeed, this is my main complaint about his look...<_<Killer3000ad wrote...
Ugh, James is ugly and reminds me of the stereotypical grizzled square-jawed jock space marine that inundates too many shooters out on the market. If Bioware doesn't change his appearance I sure hope I am allowed to kill him off at some point.
Kaidan is ok with his armor and Liara too(light armor i guess), but i hope she gets a helmet because that tiara is weird.
Didn't liked Ashley's clothes...i think she needs a armor.

Ashley will be able to wear armor and helmet. The tweet cointaining this information is somewhere in this thread. I know it because I red it yesterday. So stop complaining about her armor, because she will be able to use it!

I should thank you for making that picture swapping their heads, it was so eye-opening to how bad her design is. That's what gave some of us the idea of do some photomanip to find out how would she look with a Kaidan-like armor. So thanks!Mash Mashington wrote...

Really, Vega is SO stereotypical and uninspired, its not even funny. And so is now Ashely too. At least in that image. Well everything in that image is stereotypical and uninspired.

Glad they've finally gotten Ash out of that dull Phoenix (it was Phoenix, wasn't it?) armour from the first game. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather each of my companions have a small selection of aesthetically-pleasing, custom-designed outfits (and I do mean outfits, screw realism and everyone being forced to wear heavy armour, they have kinetic barriers for Christ's sake) instead of that bland, awful mess that was Mass Effect 1 armour.

But then Shepard should also have the option to have a nice outfit, yet regardless of class, specialization and personal preference he or she (but mostly he) is required to dress like a tank from Me2 onwards.

I'd be quite happy to have the option to wear Ash's outfit on my FemShep and Kaidan's on my MaleShep, I'd even prefer it. Shepard's N7 armour is his or her outfit though, s/he's an N7 Alliance marine to the bone. That's his/her characterisation.Finis Valorum wrote...

I just love how people use ''they have kinetic barriers'' as just excuse for the most horrible combat outfits, i really hope that they would read the codex once in a while.

Also I thought Shepard's characterization was largely up to us as individual players, while I can respect the marketing departments strategy to present the default Shepard ass John Shepard bad ass male renegade soldier that is far from the only way to actually play the character in game.
All my ManSheps are Adepts or Sentinels while my FemSheps are an infiltrator and an engineer respectively none of them should logically have to dress like a tank especially since squadmates who dress combat casual are shown to be no more or less effective for it.
