Sooo.............Liara becomes a Justicar? I don get it.

No, that's the same armor she had in LotSB in a different color scheme(she'll wear the same outfit in ME3).

Well, Liara has facial gear that really looks like Samara's, who's a Justicar....

As for the outift, not liking it so much. I've seen better "re-colors" than that one.

Red doesn't match her skin color, I believe. And I don't like her eyeshadow color either... being final or not.

I haven't read through the forum yet so this has probably already been mentioned a gazillion times. But why doesn't Ashley wear soldier armor anymore? Honestly what I see her in looks like something Liara could slip in just as easily. It doesn't make sense to me. I like the new face but she should still look like she'll brutalize your enemies. It's like they've Mirandered her.

CHud says she'll have full armor and a helmet.. Take that information and do what you will with it haha!

It's several months until release and from what I've read people have made it clear if that's Ashley's permanent getup it would be ridiculous.  I take Hud at his word....

hey Bioware, just our of masochistic curiosity...what was wrong with something like this??

<snip>

was it so impossible/unfeasable/unconceivable in your mind to go for something that actually LOOKED like a Marine?

Those don't really fit in with ME's art style, though I imagine you were using them as rough examples?

In any case, I much prefer the 4 oufits we have seen so far Image IPB

sort of

I was using them as conceptual examples, Female marines in Halo wear armor...full on armor juuuuust like their male counterparts (spartans too but that's another story)

was it too hard to give Ash armor?

honestly it can be UNIQUE armor too to make her more of an individual but does she have to wear the catsuit getup?

She will have full armor and helmet.

I don't see what is so hard to understand about this.

There, Ashley will also have full armor and a helmet. Can we end this thread and move on already.

http://twitter.com/#...280277432012800

This is also relevant but less so. Have a nice day fine people of the forum.

Yeah well, i'll believe it when i see it. So far i only see that male squadmates are wearing full body armor and Ashley is in "jacket" thing. Even if Kaidan and Vega will also have catsuits and Ashley will have proper armor, this release still follows a pretty infuriating tendency

Yeah sure, and when they do release the pictures people will complain when it isn't exactly like the Mass Effect 1 armor. From what I've seen on this forum a lot of the fans also follow a pretty infuriating tendancy. That is to say a lot of you are quick to the gun and slow to take time and think about things. Most of you are reactionary and so quick to dismiss things that don't suit you.

your Dev Quote says that she will "also" have armor and helmet, for all you know it will be only in certain missions when she has to have a hardsuit for plot purposes and not all the time

devs do that often

case in point? Remember they said they planned to have the hammerhead in the vanilla ME2 game? Even said they were working on it waaaaaaaaaaaaay early on in production but were always vague about it? GI had a whole spread about it too.......and it turned out it became a DLC item

unless you get a full on confirmation with details and no sybilline statements then it just does not count

Bioware, NOW DO YOU SEE THE FANBASE REACTION? WE. DON'T. LIKE. ASHLANDA.

You've ruined a good, unique character to cater the game to the "hurr durr I love boobies (casual gaming)" audience. I thought you better than that.

Honestly, I'm having second thoughts about my collector's edition preorder.

point out where casey said "she will be equippable with full armor and helmet at will whnever you so choose" and we will be happy

so far it could just mean she will be wearing the full armor in a couple of missions because she just has to in order not to look ridiculous given the situation

Can we skip the generalizations please? Thank you.

I'm taking all Bioware statements with a grain of salt because there were lots of precedents of them being far from reality.

Because putting in boobies completely ruins everything else in the game and makes it silly and childish, I mean the romance scenes are fine but when you give a charecter larger breasts it's crossing the line.

Really? You're considering cancelling a preorder because of a hint of cleavage? Women have breasts - GET OVER IT. Its not like the boxart is her posing in a bikini. If you're that offended by a hint of flesh you probably shouldn't be playing a game like Mass Effect.

Actually, scratch that. cancel the preorder. One more collector's edition for the Mass Effect fans.

Nah, that's too unbelievable.

Speak for yourself. There are plenty of people who DO like Ash and are happy she will have a range of outfits. And I'm a bit amused at this "hurr durr boobies" line considering her Phoenix and all sub-sequent ME1 armors had a significant amount of "boob plate" built in to them as well.

So like the poster above said - this "jump on the hate bandwagon and pretend it's the fanbase majority" trend is just silly. I want them to do her armoring justice, but even w/o seeing her armor/helmet ensemble, I see very little wrong with the current leaked imagery either.

So please stop trying to speak for me or any other member of the "fanbase" and speak for yourself :)

the burden of "specifications" is obviously not on me

Bioware is the developer studio, Casey CHOSE to make his statement sybilline when he could have specified in detail (not that one needed much, just a couple of extra words) in a statement he made to clarify a situation.

No it seems that fanservice ruins everything is pretty much what he is trying to say.:? i mean honestly, how does changing a character's looks ruin said character, or warrent a reaction like "I don't want my pre-order anymore! D:"

uhm....given what we saw in ME2 and the lack of details given to us so far everything points to a big fat "no"

He has outright come out and said she will have armour in Mass Effect 3. Within that there wasn't even the vaguest hint that it would only be available some of the time. If ME1 and ME2 are any indication, the characters will wear the same outfit the entire time. There is no precident in Mass Effect for different squad outfits depending on the situation, and no hint of that in Casey's quote. So yes, the onus is on you to explain why you leapt to that conclusion.

a character who specifies she would take a heavy armor over Asari commando Uniforms any day of the week is now wearing that outfit

see the problem?

alkso I agree with you he overreacted with the whole preorder cancellation thing but I seriously doubt his only issue was the boobs for the sake of boobage

read the quote please

"she will A-L-S-O have fulla rmor and helmet"

the operative word here is "also"

Also, Ash is seen wearing the "catsuit" uniform in the E3 demo, by your logic since they will wear only one outfit the entire time  she should have been seen wearing armor

Shepard: Ashley? What the hell are you wearing?
Ash: Like?
Shepard: Yeah ... on Liara.  Now go put on a real uniform so we can get to work.
Ash: No fun.

:P
