Andii McAfee- Emily Wong
I checked the search engine and there wasn't a Fan Thread for Ms. Wong in the Mass Effect 3 Section : So here it is
"Welcome to Citadel News Network: I'm Emily Wong..."
" Mass Effect and The Media "A little while ago I was reading the Cerberus Daily News Archive at : Mass Effect Wiki... It was such a good read that I read every entry from January 2010 - September 2010. And I plan on picking up where I left off... Even during my playthroughs of Mass Effect 2, I found myself listening and watching every News Report I could find. I find them fascinating and the level of suspense of disbelief that BioWare has given those who are fans of the Mass Effect Universe, ( from adding the Cerberus Daily News ) is second to none !!

Never have I felt so immersed and involved in a story of fiction.I recieve Newsletters from The New York Daily News, New York Times and other places. But I found the reports from this hypothetical future inter galactic community to be far more interesting and relatable ( as strange as that may sound ) than Earthian Modern Day News. Now I have an idea of what you may be thinking right now : " Well that's not hard to understand, Mass Effcet is escapism par excellence."
Here's the thing, it doesn't strike me so much as escapism ; more like recieving broadcast from a parallel universe or the future... If we as a species ever become a "space faring civilization" and if we discover that "We are not alone".What the brillant writers at BioWare postulate now ( with the Galactic New Network ) will be reality then..For we of course, Live in an age where Science Fiction becomes Science Fact with alarming frequency
So where does Emily Wong fit in to any of this ? What role could she or should she play in Mass Effect 3 ?A fellow by the username of
StarMarine did a great job of Championing Shiala, having a major role in the plot of Mass Effect 3
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/325/index/7625412/5#7692328I shall attempt to do the same for Emily Wong here. In the world that we live in now, during war campaigns the Media can be the tip of the spear.I don't recall his name but a United Staes of America General gloated once about how this was the case a couple of years ago... One of the Reapers greatest strengths is akin to what is commonly said of Satan :
" The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." And from what we learned from Vigil on Illos, when the Reapers appeared they did all within their power to keep people in the dark about all the death and destruction that they were inflicting upon inhabited world after world.
A Press Black -Out of Biblical Proportions, if you will...

For those like myself who want to interact with Ms.Wong to an even greater extent than in ME1, I see many ways for this to occur in ME3.There is a very convincing way that BioWare can involve her in Shepard's Crusade... And have her as a 'Love Interest' as well. After interviewing Shepard, Emily could almost just tell him in a casual manner that she is going to start investigating who in positions of power may be indoctrinated or that she will be reporting from the frontlines of the War with the Reapers. The conversation wheel pops up and you can choose to show genuine concern for her safety and she smiles back at you and says something about how much she appreciates your concern and goes on to speak a bit about how dangerous a profession journalism can be but that she is determined to do her part.
Shepard responds : "If you get in trouble, you know how to get in contact with me. "
Emily : And if I'm not in trouble ? she says with a flirtacious smile. The conversation wheel gives you the option of backtracking or reciprocating...

They keep in contact by having a correspondence, but fate will eventually bring them together like Superman & Lois Lane. Someone in another thread mentioned that Emily Wong should join the crew of the Normandy SR 2 as an embedded journalist.
Embedded journalism refers to
news reporters being attached to
military units involved in
armed conflicts.
While the term could be applied to many historical interactions between
journalists and military personnel, it first came to be used in the
media coverage of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The
United States military responded to pressure from the country's news media who were disappointed by the level of access granted during the 1991
Gulf War and in the 2001
U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.
That's a great idea.As Shepard Commander you can decide how much access she shall have and how close to danger she will be allowed to get.But knowing Emily, she will do as she please...

Oh, I should have added Downloadable Content akin to Leliana's Song from Dragon Age Orgins..
And like the protaginist from Beyond Good & Evil

You are a reporter : Investigate possible indoctrination on the Citadel and get out of some dicey situations
Edit: Here's a link to my Poll. Emily Wong's role in Mass Effect 3 The more of us that vote. The more likely that BioWare may pay attention.
