So I have the reward item high regard for house dace. It was equiped to a tower guard and after he died the item is no longer in my inventory, i thought when someone dies there stuff goe sinto ur inventory, thats what happened with jory and daveth.... what the hell, now im really angry because i really wanted to use this item, im already at lothering and i don't wanna just start over for this. I guess im parcially venting but what happened. I know I didn't sell it because it was equipped on him when he died, so i checked the 2 vendors i sell things to in lothering and neither had it. Does things go away when equipped to a tower guard? i did not sell it..... where the hell is it

No, sorry, it's lost, you have to reload a save before the battle with the ogre and unequip the tower guard of the amulet. For some reason, the red shirts for that battle do not drop their gear back into your inventory after the battle is over.

So you for sure can confirm that if i equip something to the tower guard i need to unequip it before they die?

The temporary Tower of Ishal companions go to the grave with anything they are equipped with - found that out the hard way myself. Now I strip 'em of everything before lighting the signal fire... roleplay or no, coin is coin at that point in the game.

are there any other situations like this? i know daveth and jory give their stuff back, as do lily and jowan do in the origin

Nope, those two are the only exception. Everyone else returns their gear. Don't know why those two are special.

I think if you convince any of your companions to leave, they depart with what they were wearing. I'm not sure if that's also true if you kill them, but I've had two storm out/politely excuse themselves and they took their gear in both cases.
