 "Wake up Commander"

A voice calls out from the intercom. It's a male australian accented voice, it introduces itself as Micheal Lawson and orders you to grab your weapons and armor and escape. You fight your way through some mechs and encounter a female soldier of African decent who introduces herself as Jaqueline Taylor. She's a biotic and unleashes her power on the mechs. You join up with another female named Wilma who thinks Micheal is a traitor. As you escape it turns out the truth is the other way around. Wilma was the traitor who hacked the mechs and tried to kill you.

The game continues and you meed the Illusive Woman voiced by Meryl Streep who requests your help in fighting the Collectors. On Freedom's Progress you meet an old friend, a naive young Quarian male named Talix. You are sent to Omega to recruit, Dr. Mordina, the only female Salarian on Omega and a former STG member and Archangel, a turian super sniper who turns out to be another old face namely Garette. 

So hypothetically speaking, how much would the game change if we simply swapped around the genders? Mordin would be incedibly unique since female salarians rarely leave the home planet. Conversely Jack might be the most disliked as she would be seen as a stereotypical angsty male tough guy. Grunt's importance would shoot through the roof. Not only did Okeer-ella create a Krogan super soldier, but a fertile female as well. Wrex-ette would probably request Grunt to return to Tuchanka to fullfill her duties after the mission. Hell some might even try and capture her and we see Grunt tear them to ribbons. 

Garette would be the new Tali and have tons of creepy fanboys while the girls swoon over the sweet and sensitive Talix. Thane would mostly be the same expect it would be somewhat similar to Samara's situation except Thane would want to reconcile with her daughter. Also, female assassin's are cool. Samara and Legion would be unchanged of course. Instead of Kasumi we would have Keiji except he's Japanese. 

Female Zaeed would be BEST SQUADMATE EVER!! Angry grandmother is angry. 

Female Jacob would be far better recived than her male counterpart and fangirls would be exited by Micheal because they have a manly man not afarid to be handsome and charming. But he has to be thawed being an ice king and all.

LOL Grandma Zelda instead of Zaeed would be hilarious! A crotchty grandma cursing like a drunken sailer LOL.

Illusive Woman would be interesting - especially as a MILF. I think there'd be a lot more Cerebus fanbois and a lot more Collector bases saved...LOL

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a female Zaeed better then what we got.

And why can't we sex/gender swap the Asari? The Asari are now all men. Somoro is a Justicar hunting down his vampire-son. Of course an all male race that mates with itself would trigger the alarms...

Oh and "Micheal" is spelled "Michael".

Assuming the fanservice, ass shots, relative degrees of armor, and personalities remain intact, that sounds awesome. Joker, Zaeed and Garrus are all character archetypes that are near-universally male, for no real reason (women can be sarcastic snots, badass ****s, and total bros just as much as men) so it'd be a real breath of fresh air. Grunt would be a lot more interesting for the same reason even without the added intrigue of krogan fertility issues.

The women would be less of a shake-up for the most part - Jack would just basically be Fenris, everyone would hate Tali, and Kelly still wouldn't make sense - but I'd be interested to see rule 63!Miranda. If only for how the dudebros would react to the catsuit and ass shots.
