"Engineer is definitely my favourite class for #ME3. The evolved turret and evolved drone are both a lot of fun."

:)

Wait, so we get a turret AND the drone? Oh, what fun I shall have

You can use them both at the same time too.

Gotta move that gear up!

Playing an engineer should automatically replace all ambient audio with this....

Many people overlook the Engineer class in ME2, if you give it a real try, it is a very fun class to play, one of my favorites, they strip both armor and shields with powers, only sentinels can do that as well, combat drone is always awesome, and if you are looking for fun fights AI hacking and Dominate make every encounter entertaining, take legion and tali with you for a triple drone hilarity.

Let's just hope BioWare gets some help from Visceral Games on just how an engineer fares in combat.

If the ME3 engineers get an exclusive plasma cutter-esque weapon I'll just die.

DA II players who registered a copy of Dead Space 2 got Isaac's armor... Hopefully they'll do the same with ME3, and make it one of the best suits for Engineers.

Plus, y'know, a Line Gun heavy weapon would be great against husks.

I have to agree with the OP for the most part.
However I think one of the reasons the Engineer seemed more fleshed out in ME1 had to do with two very specific points:
1. Individual cooldowns in ME1 allowed you to pretty much only use skills rather than fire weapons for the support classes. THere has been plenty of discussion around that issue
2. Making hacking/description prerequisites for salvaging/opening doors forced every player to always have one tech expert in the team. If you were not an Engineer/Infiltrator, you had to take a techi and you recognized them as such (including yourself). Since in ME2 Shep just can do anything, that distinction gets lost. I think that is not necessarily a good thing but it also has its advantages.

I think with the turret and all, the engineer might get a bit more of a recognizable tech expert in ME3. If not, I hope the at least give him an easy to distinguish yellow hardhat.
