The very most that establishes is that Hawke is just bad at calling out liars (though, you can call him on his **** after you gather the potion ingredients). Anders is still such a god awful liar that you'd expect it to be patently obvious were he to make any other attempts to deceive Hawke.Xewaka wrote...
You, as the player, can. Hawke, the PC, is a different matter.ipgd wrote...
Uh, wut? If anything, DA2 established Anders as an awful liar. The one time he lies outright, you can see straight through him. He couldn't keep up a convincing deception to save his life.
Dog, the best summoning companion ever. Moderator please close this thread for me. Thanks!

Well I don't see why he would have lied about that. To blame Justice? I don't think he was doing that. Neither am I, really. I'm not saying Justice forced the matter, and Anders, being trained in the Circle, should have known full well the dangers of agreeing to such a thing.
The vibe I get from the whole conversation is that he blames himself for what he did to Justice, not that he feels victimized by that evil mean spirit.

I'm not sure I agree with the idea that they sort of backed into it, but it would make interpreting Anders' dialog interesting in that it'd be more about him convincing himself than it would be about convincing Merrill or Hawke or Fenris.

Justice and Anders have those Awakenings banters (they're easy enough to look up) about striking out against his oppressors. They basically reveal that Anders doesn't fight the Templars because he fears death, doesn't want to do anything difficult, and basically believes that life isn't fair, so he has no real imperative to help others. Justice does have the strength, doesn't fear death, and believes that an inherent obligation does exist.
I agree with this except Justice did fear death, he says so I think it was after we downed the Baroness. Yes?
I do wonder if they can be seperated at this point. Even moreso I wonder if they would want too. They seem to be in accord in the friendship path and more at odds in the rivalry path which might determine this? Just rambling...
