EDIT: I also have another question. Is it possible to play this game in window mode?

Hey sogar
I have just reinstalled NWN1 Gold Edition, and i ran into a similar problem.
I run Windows 7, and when i tried to download the patch, i received the same message.
What i did is right clicked on the file, then ran as admin. And it worked perfectly.
Hope this helps.
This caught me off-guard the first time it happened to me as well, but the "cavespeak" is the result of having an Intelligence score lower than 9.Namea wrote...
Did have one odd issue though...when I started a new game Pavel (that first NPC you meet) called me slow and I realized that my PC was speaking like a cavewoman..."Me not know this" and the like. I don't recall that from the last time I played this game some years ago...I'm not playing as a barbarian either...
Yup, realized that when I started my new game and had my intelligence higher. It'd been so long since I played that I forgot to put up the intelligence. When I remembered to do so and started over it was normal again.Tsubasa117 wrote...

3) You should specify the installation folder and not allow Win7 to place it in any location other than c:\\Neverwinternights\\NWN Otherwise, the rest won't matter.

I don't get why all of you always point that one out. On my son's laptop and my Desktop, each with Windows 7 Home premium, I installed NWN in c:Program Files (x86)NeverwinterNightsNWN and it works without any hassle.
Just curious.
