To any outsider observer, me handling even one of these guys always looked like I was a panicking fool because I am literally filling the air with bullets.

ME 2 was less about the geth so Bioware probably did not want to do the programming and stuff for it and dorpped it entirely. ME 3 seems more husk based so it is less likely to appear but one can hope.

You mean the "Geth Hopper"? They would be a welcome return in ME3. I actually miss them. Trying to set up the perfect shot while the other Geth shoot at me was fun.

Somebody went with format a: So sad...

Seriously though, perhaps there were issues with cover based combat and spider Geth. Or something...

There are files within Mass 2 that suggest they were once part of the game, but were cut.

I was thinking the other day how it'd be cool to see the hoppers return for ME3, but we'll see i suppose.

It used some Viagra...

Actually I kind of miss those little terrors. They were definitely some of the most interesting geth. I wonder if we'll see some of them in Mass Effect 3. Would be interesting if some of them could be on our side.

They became obsolete, just like real floppies.

I was kind of disappointed there weren't any geth hoppers in ME2,I was expecting some during Legion's loyalty mission(unfortunately there weren't)

Good to see I'm not the only one who thought this. ME2 combat suffered because there wasn't enough really difficult enemies to deal with.

Geth hoppers and stalkers were the two types of jumping geth.

I would love if they threw in a few cloaked hoppers and stalkers. It didn't make a lot of sense for destroyers to be the cloaked geth in ME2. I'm just a glutton for punishment.

Legion should totally get upgraded into a hopper type body, and become the best squad member from never being able to get hit. Or failing that, at least have the option as an alt appearance.

Nothing like trying to kill a swarm of gnats with a machine gun.

Fighting the hoppers comes close though.

Geth Hoppers, the only enemies that my allies were able to take down faster than me. I'd like to see them make a return, but they need to be a little more dangerous than they were in ME.

Edit: Bugger.
