Awww. Will there at least be npcs, or possibly an alt appearance for Legion? I always thought they had one of the more interesting designs, and were clearly a sign of the Geth evolving.

Brenon, if I ever meet you IRL, let me buy you a drink. Found the Hoppers and Stalkers to be colossally annoying.

CDs were invented. Floppys are obsolete.

That's a shame. They could have been enjoyable to fight now that the series has tighter shooter controls. A few tweaks like making them hop less would have also helped make them fun to fight.

The hoppers went a long way in making the geth feel like a unique set of enemies in ME1 (IMO). I guess now they're all just reskinned mercs like in ME2 again.Posted Image

So... will there be a reason we no longer encounter them or have they simply been retconned from existence?

aww that's a shame. Thanks for letting us know Brenon. Do you think there's a specific reason they've been removed since ME1?

Wait, you mean there weren't any of those Geth Spiders in ME2? Dang, I didn't even notice. That's probably a good thing as the squaddies always took them down before my Infiltrator could even get a lock on one. Bastards!

With that said, I'm totally looking forward to dancing it out with the Sarenator on my first Insanity run using my Engineer. Maker help the poor sod with my lack of super amazing and fantastic reflexes! Who knows, maybe he'll pull through. After all, Virmire's the only bit I have left before Ilos to complete, and he only died like 50 trillion times during the fight with Benezia. Piece of cake! Chocolate cake, even.

Oh, right, the topic. I wouldn't mind a return of the Geth Spiders in ME3. I'm sure Garrus and James will make short work of 'em as my Infiltrator continues to run around shooting wildly with her Collector rifle like a drunk and blind-folded ballerina. Maker help anyone stupid enough to walk into her lack of sight. Gonna be good times, man!

This platform is disappointed in the organics decision that vertical mobility is a non-essential factor of combat.
We will lower our data processes to compensate.

Frankly a tad disappointed to hear this is the case. I thought the Geth Hoppers were possibly one of the most interesting types of enemies featured in a game this generation. You guys really created something fairly nifty with the "Ninja Geth". Closest other thing I can of think is the Assassins in F.E.A.R.

Admittedly they were just about impossible for a human player to aim at and I guess for many this can be frustrating. Though I liked this since you had to predict their movement and or make good use of your powers. Oh well guess I can just expect standard Troopers, Flamethrowers, and Rocket Troops again that I will just simply drill away my gun like everything.

I demand the enemy palate be more inclusive. Bring back stalkers hoppers ghosts whatever those spidey things were called they were at least a challange. I am sick of lame run into fire enemys in Bioware games. Freaking fix it! /rage, /rant, /quit.

Win.

Also agreed.  Hoppers were awesome, forced me to tactically place my squad so they could cover multiple jump directions, or I could follow their patterns and place tech mines for them to jump into, or line up a sniper shot ahead of the pattern and have about .3 seconds to adjust and fire and drop them in one hit.  It was invigorating.

In their place, we got big cloaky destoyers that you can still see well enough to headshot anyway.  If you're not bringing hoppers back, then for the sake of all that is Gaming Goodness, bring something with variety!  I think I had more fun with LOTSB cause of the 2 good bosses and low-gravity section then I did in the rest of ME2 combined.

What did they bring to combat exactly, besides jamming radars and spamming sabotage and damping?

Cool we are still tailoring to the general gamer. We at Bioware like to make our games appeal to the general gamer. So we can make more money and have more sales, pushing further development. We love the idea of making a game that a general player will beat once. We do not want to create an experience that makes the general gamer worry for even a second,or the may not finish their playthough. Potentially influencing them not to buy our games.

We will continue to act like we care about hardcore fans(hardcore fans will always buy our items.)and post on these threads and do minor things to make it seem as if we are meeting the fans expectations. These are the players who will buy all of our games and beat them more then once. There is no real reason to tailor to these fans,as their money is already ours.

We will continue to create gameplay physics that do things for you. As the casual gamer may need help. Less=More in this case. Less confusing item selection, fewer items, fewer RPG elements, just less overall content equal more game sales to casual gamers. We at Bioware love getting paid(As do you.) We will continue to make great games that all can enjoy, easily. While stealing the money of those fans who expect more from us. If we continue to promise we will fix these issues, they will continue to buy and support our products.

With that said,I would like to let you know it will always be about the casual gamer, and not the hardcore fan. As the first playthrough could be tailored to both,or we could just simply make NG+,more tailored to our hardcore gamers. We will not though,as we at Bioware feel most players will not play more then one playthrough, and there is no real need to add extra options and content for NG+. It does nothing but cost us money and time(Bioware),while gaining nothing, but the Benefit of a few happy fans.

I certainly hope that is sarcasm, because I find it difficult for anyone to rationalize "No floppy Geth" with "OMG DUMBING DOWNZ!!"

An enemy that may take a little skill to kill. Or an enemy that may cause headaches for casual gamers. Is completly gone with no reasons behind it. No in-game story explaining it,Just removed to make combat easier.

What would you call it?

It is/was sarcasm. It just happens to be true. The "Floppy Geth" is not what I was basing the comment on. Overall. Please read, and quit making quick assumptions, that turn out to be wrong. "Floppy Geth" going missing for no real reason is a contributing factor to less. Is it not? It was there, now it is not. Seems to me,if you take something away,It creates less.
