I never had any problems with dragon age when I played it with Vista a couple years ago.

Now I'm playing the 1.04 version on win 7 and its got so many its barely playable.

I loaded up my game today and my characters are missing their weapons!! Just gone, no explanation. Morrigan's staff, my starfang sword!

I went back to all my saves and all the weapons in hand now are ALL suddenly missing!

My game is crashing a couple times a day as well. Anyone else have these problems?

Impossible to answer, since you have chosen to omit the majority of the data that anyone might use to try to answer:

My best guess, in the complete absence of data, is that you had added weapons using mods and now do not have those mods installed--thus the missing weapons. That would certainly not be a game bug.

I wouldn't say its impossible to answer. I was not asking to fix the problem, and therefore didn't provide specs. I was asking if this had happened to anyone else here.

   But in nature to the question;

Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition

Retail Disk

i5 Core 650 3.2Ghz, 6GB ram, 64 bit operating system, Windows 7 and an ATI Radeon card.

Game crashes randomly. Weapons appeared randomley.

Problem occured today, been playing this character a bit every day and sometimes every other.

Game crashes every hour or so.

It usually crashes during an area transition but sometimes during a battle.

I have not modified the game in any way; altered it or added mods.

The reguested information goes far beyond just your system specs and that information helps to discern if anyone else has had your problem. There have been known conflicts with all sorts of things from video drivers to antivirus software. If you want useful assistance, add the information. It would also be useful to know what weapons and armor are missing. If it is just DLC items missing (such as starfang) I would imagine that either you haven't downloaded and installed the DLC or you are having authorization issues with the DLC. The ultimate edition comes already updated to patch 1.04, so if you installed the patch again over the base install, it is known to cause problems. I would imagine you had the original (not ultimate edition) install of the game installed before as the Ultimate Edition came out less than a year ago, and installing UE over an original install is known to cause issues. So yes, all that information is pretty important. As it stands, there are so many possibilities as to what is wrong, there is no way to help you.

Yes, but I was not saying the information was not useful to provide. My intital post Sami was just asking in general if anyone had experienced item data loss. I was not trying to ask why it happens.

I am asking for assistance now, so have provided some information.

On my most recent save I lost Starfang and a powerful staff Morrigane had. I cannot remember and its name and its missing in all of my save files now. All of the weapons are except for Shale's crystals. When I went back to further saves armour was missing in some cases.

I had the original game, I uninstalled it and bought the ultimate edition, so yes you're right.

I'm really not trying to be snarky, it's just difficult to tell if anyone has had the same problem without that information as all sorts of completely unrelated things can cause the same symptoms. While it does not explain your crashes, the disappearing armor and weapons that were DLC related may have been a function of your achievements taking some time to filter back to your machine so that those items would show as being earned. It would help to know your specific graphics card and drivers (i.e. the model number and driver number). What patch number and DLC were you running with the game originally? If you can't remember the patch number, the DLC you had installed will indicate a minimum as each one required a certain minimum patch. Given the game was running well before with the original version, if we can figure out what changed in the meantime, we can probably solve the crashing issue for you.

Thanks. Its an ATI Radeon 5570 1GB I think. I can't find in system information.

Oddly, my achievements do take a while to pop on because its not logging my profile in right away when I play. I have to sign in every time which is a bother. Didn't think that would cause it, but it does explain it cause thats happening.

The patch number is 1.04, I only removed it from my 2nd post cause I thought it was figured cause it was the ultimate edition. I can't remember the original patch I had, it was over a year ago, so maybe 1.02

I didn't figure my problem could be fixed initially, thats why I didn't use information I just asked. But now it seems like its possible. I'm not sure on the drivers, I'll have to get back to you.I have the ultimate so I have all the DLC.

I left just as I had the Golems of Amarakk, so I must have had the latest patch at that time.

You would have had patch 1.04 to play GoA, so the patch is not the issue. Steam automatically updates the patch to the most recent one and the UE was pre-patched to 1.04, so if you tried to manually patch to 1.04 over that, it might have caused your problems. There are step by step instructions to find all the information in Raen's "Before Anything" thread.
