I just wanted to get a few opinions on this. After reading that pursuing a relationship with a new squadmate in ME2 after already having a relationship with a squadmate from ME1 could have consequences in ME3 i am having trouble on deciding whether to keep my playthrough that has a relationship with Miranda or to scrap it and do a new playthrough where i don't pursue a relationship and keep it where i have only had a relationship with Ashley. Seeing as Ashley has more of a personality and Miranda has better looks (IMO), i have to good choices. I'm worried that in ME3, they are both going to be mad at me when one finds out about the other. Now, i know some bias may be involved considering i did not mention other characters like Liara or Tali but i just want opinions on whether i should go with Miranda or stick with Ashley.

TL; DR Should i have a relationship with Miranda or stick with Ashley?

First of all, I vehemently disagree with the notion that Ashley has more personality than Miranda.

Anyway, Miranda fans will tell you that you should choose Miranda and vice versa.
You seem to prefer Ashley's character over Miranda's and since she (Ashley) is getting a make over for ME3, you should probrably just stick with her.

I think it's kind of funny if Ashley *does* takes some feminine hints from Miranda. :-) As in my play through there will be competition per say for Ashley for Shepard affection. I think my maleshep would be a bit surprised if he sees her(Ash) in a say... skirt.

In ME2, I'd take Miranda over Ash.

Why don't you just use two playthroughs? One for Miranda and one for Ashley?

Given that you seem to prefer Ash's personality, I recommend that you stick with her. ME3 Ashley is physically similar to Miranda anyway, and will probably give more romance development.

Ash being more fleshed out and developed =/= more personality. Think about it; ME1 there was Ash, Kaidan, and Liara for romance.

ME2 there's Garrus, Jack, Jacob, Miranda, Tali, Thane and to a lesser extent Kelly, Morinth/Samara.

Ash simply had a better chance to shine. That said. If you like both have two playthroughs. I have one for Ash and another for Liara/Miranda. The second one was more Miranda than anything since Liara, Shaira, Samara. Jack, and Kelly didn't really count. John is of the James Tiberius lineage until he met Miranda that is. Hopefully it works out.

 Have two playthroughs ... actually, ONE playthrough with appropriate saves - to alleviate your stress and I really don't like this question being posed because it's practically gridlocked (which may lead to a "thread locked!") and you don't want that!!

I'd know who I'd choose, but you're the one who's playing, so I really can't help you.

If anything, it's best to move on and just remains friends with both if it bothers you that much. It's a game, but the same advice would be given (applied to real life of course)

I really don't think the consequences will be that big, more of a situation where you have to make a choice, like they've already done in ME1 and ME2. Hopefully it'll be a little more dramatic than those two were, although the VS got pretty upset if you juggled them and Liara in ME1.

Regarding these two, I've never romanced them, so I'll let their LI fans duel it out.

Why would I choose Ashley since she looks like a drag queen (especially in the pics of her from ME3).

It'll be hard. Most Miri fans are either fans of Ash themselves or indifferent towards her. Vice-versa. You want a duel? Try pitting Miri, Jack, and Tali fans against eachother. Hulls will be breached.
