Miranda or Ashley?

Ash looks good the way she is. So if the ME3 update is supposed to bring her to Miranda's level or some ****, it shouldn't happen at the expense of her character.

She still admit she prefers humans over the aliens , her character showed not as much growth , but neither did Liara , Liara really matures up during LoTSB .. before that didn´t like Liara either.
Edit= sadly it sounds a lot negative , while I do not mean it that way , just in ME2 the characters are much deeper and well developed the dialogue lines , was infact much more interesting choices , different ways to get a different conclusion , example Jacob is a good example , you shut him up early by asking about miranda and him .
He won´t even tell half his story , In ME1 it was much easier to get them to tell there whole story ...
So I would love to see Liara and Ashley futher developed , that choices in dialogues do show consequences.
Instead of always being sweet leads to the whole story .

In terms of writing, Ashley wins. She's consistent (cannot be said of Miranda)

Personality shift from Freedom's Progress to the Normandy. "I'm not looking for a friend Shepard. Stay focused on the mission." Then the first conversation aboard the Normandy, Shepard begins quizzing her, so she develops a completely sweet tone and goes "Well I guess that's fair."
Then we break out the cupcakes, laugh about the control chip, and hug.
Then there's her saying that it's wrong to use the Collector base due to some petty moral reason but back in the Lazarus space station she was shown to be very ruthless when she coldly said that the remaining people left there were expendable.
Becuase of that we don't have a single female squadmate who endorses keeping the base.

I think it was Jacob who said that.

With Ashley's new looks, she looks waaaaaaay better than Miranda. Considering the characters don't looke drastically different, so the proportions appear to be the same as the last two games or even maybe a little bit smaller, Ashley looks soooo much better than MIranda.

I really like Miranda. She's my type of girl, very cold, mature, focused on the missions/objectives, very attractive, mysterious and also shows her caring nature in subtle ways. Her loyalty mission wasn't what made me care, but her promise to Jacob did. She actually remembered and kept a promise to Jacob (that's how Jacob finds out about his father) that he couldn't even remember.
I brought her with me for the final mission and she also said "consider this my resignation" to TIM. A major + for me
I really wish they gave us the option of having both her and Ashley as permanent team members instead of forcing Ashley down our throats. This would make it easier for people to choose by observing their behaviors.
However, Ashley looks great in ME3 and I am very curious to see how she turns out. I'm not into the aliens like Tali (though I love Quarians) and I only started to like Liara at the end of the shadow broker DLC. Thus, I'll stick to either Miri or Ash., or BOTH
And btw, Garrus is the best character in Mass Effect.

It's kinda odd realizing that there's a whole big group of players out there who are like "Ash? Wrex? What's the big deal? I barely know who they are..." when they're fan favorites to pretty much everyone else (Wrex especially).

Ash is also well written and developed, but the decision to make VS disapprove of your actions no matter if you had any past, was equally bad imo.
All in all, I think devs having an ass fetish is a slightly smaller sin that suspending character developement for a whole game, so I go for Miranda.

But I have only played ME2 so I'm kinda biased but I am planning to get ME1. I have heard from many people that Ashley is boring and because she can't say her feelings she talks in poetry. And I hate poetry. So yeah, I have a feeling I won't like her much.
