From time to time I think about importing an ME1 game and romancing no one in ME2 to have Ashley as my only LI in ME3. But guess what - it never works. Miranda always gets me.DarthSlim108 wrote...
Honestly, every time I import an ME1 game into ME2, I plan to cheat on Ash with Miranda, but by the end of the game I just can't do it. Ash seems like a girl I might actually date in real life, while Miranda seems like that hot chick that you stare at all the time but never talk to.
That Miranda is in a way larger-than-life is one reason I find her so irresistible, even when considering that Ashley's romance scene is way better than Miranda's. Also there are certain aspects I like in Miranda more. Ashley is a more traditional type than Miranda, for instance. Ashley is religious and patriotic - which I have no problem with when speaking with her, and it doesn't prevent me from being friends with her and not from romancing her in ME1. But that I tend to dislike those attitudes in RL influences my LI preference come ME2. in Miranda I get a decidedly less traditional personality type - the morally ambiguous, genetically enhanced superspy who is also pro-human, but still appreciates non-human culture.
I really like Ashley. She's down-to-earth, passionate and playful while being a badass soldier at the same time. Even so, she's got no chance against Miranda.

Since Miranda and Ashley now share the same looks, that factor can be thrown out of the window.
If you prefer personality over looks, stick with Ash. Otherwise, stick with Miranda.
I myself am a fan of both, so it'll be a hard time deciding who I'm gonna take. Provided I ever get that choice.
I already have a Shepard that had Ash as LI in ME1 and Miri as LI in ME2. So now I hope that I can choose one of them in ME3. And on a different playthrough I pursue the other LI. And as a bonus I get some extra dialogue thrown in! Awesome!

I'd say more but I think I've worshipped Ashley enough by this point that I shouldn't need to go into detail. Plus, I won't say anything about Miranda because my mother always tells me that if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all.
As it stands, I like Ashley. She's my preference. If Miranda is your preference then I respect that.

Why choose? Hooray for multiple playthroughs!
Soon, I'll make a new Shepard for Miranda.

I prefer Miranda's personality over Ashley's. Just saying. I'm getting really sick of that assumption that Miranda is all about looks and nothing more.Whacka wrote...

I agree. To say " if you personality, so choose Ashley " is wrong.Ieldra2 wrote...

They both have a strong personality. It is suitable for each individual to decide which to prefer.

Right now, in ME3, I see no difference between them. However, Ash has a high probability of turning into a s/s option, so she has higher chances with the crowd, I guess.
How do you figure that? Remember she's a Christian, it doesn't seem like she would go that way to me.
Remember, she never actually says anything about what religion she belongs to.

It comes down to personal taste. I feel Miranda's traits go better with the Shepard I roleplay.

And some are using that still given Ashley's redesign. I didn't post that motivational multiple times for nothing. In fact, the outcry about her transformation was what inspired me to do it. (Of course, I added other parts to complete it; however, I have posted that portion of it often.)

The OP likes Ash because of her personality and Miranda because of her looks. Or, at least, that's how I read it.
Personally, I think both Ashley and Miranda have great personalities.

Yeah, but the "Looks vs. Personality" comparison has been used alot. Both have the same traits. What makes them up is different. NO worse, no better. Just different. Yet, some think that Ash will get that other piece that will make her Miranda 2.0. (She need more pieces than that folks) And wouldn't the reverse be true, too?
[sarcasm]Please let these two fight because that is all anybody wants to see; they couldn't care less about perserving the galaxy. Yet, when they stop, I'm sure the fans won't [/sarcasm]

So far I have only seen Ashley's new hairstyle. Can't really say anything about the changes applied to her body.
Not that I care anyway.

Ashley is a bit racist.
Miranda has daddy issues.
Ashley, well she has granddaddy issues.
Miranda is too ridiculously hot.
Ashley isn't so hot, but still attractive.
Miranda's looks are actually rather sexist from a design point of view, but then that's the point.
Ashley has a slightly ridiculous poetry fetish.
Miranda has a gene fetish, which is a bit boring.
Ashley has a bit of a manly jaw.
Miranda has a bit of a... you get the point
Ashley has a sexy voice.
Miranda is voiced by Sara Walker.
Ashley is the alliance.
Miranda can help kick Cerberus' and TIM's but (although, daddy issues....)
Ashley is a tough marine (but perhaps she has a different class now)
Miranda is an all-round smart-ass operative.
Ashley has a 'saviour idolisation complex' with Shepherd (just invented the word).
Miranda has a 'nurse-patient complex' with Shepherd (again, there is probably a better word).
Just trying to create some perspective.
For me the poetry did it. It was just 'meh'. So I'd have to choose Miranda.

Miranda is a loyal Cerberus agent. Heck, she's the Illusive Man's right hand when it comes to operations and one of the select few who has ever met him face to face. She always speaks of Cerberus as an organization with great intentions who just have a bad image, going so far as to tell Shepard that she Wished Cerberus had more people like him, people not joining out of xenophobia. And then the suicide mission comes along. She was willing to throw all of her rank and status with Cerberus away to stay with Shepard out of either admiration or love. The way i see it, anyone who's willing to go that far for me deserves my attention. Ash is still my second choice as an LI but it just seems like Miranda is more of a personality i admire and would be interested to discover more about. Not to mention she doesnt spout off a crap ton of poetry.
