Regarding these two, I've never romanced them, so I'll let their LI fans duel it out.
It'll be hard. Most Miri fans are either fans of Ash themselves or indifferent towards her. Vice-versa. You want a duel? Try pitting Miri, Jack, and Tali fans against eachother. Hulls will be breached.
This just shows that BioWare can make their women sexually appealing and classy and tough all at the same time. How can you not love that?? =D
pretty much this.ShepardsIdol wrote...
Miranda is a loyal Cerberus agent. Heck, she's the Illusive Man's right hand when it comes to operations and one of the select few who has ever met him face to face. She always speaks of Cerberus as an organization with great intentions who just have a bad image, going so far as to tell Shepard that she Wished Cerberus had more people like him, people not joining out of xenophobia. And then the suicide mission comes along. She was willing to throw all of her rank and status with Cerberus away to stay with Shepard out of either admiration or love. The way i see it, anyone who's willing to go that far for me deserves my attention. Ash is still my second choice as an LI but it just seems like Miranda is more of a personality i admire and would be interested to discover more about. Not to mention she doesnt spout off a crap ton of poetry.
I may not agree with you about Miranda in every detail, but yes, Ashley and Miranda are both great characters. Easily the best of the female characters in the game, LIs or not. How, indeed, can you not love them both? I have my preference and I know why - Miranda is less traditional than Ashley - but never let it be said that they're not both great.ilovemesometurian wrote...
I love Ashley because she's tough and grit, has a strong backbone, is faithful to something (in this case the alliance and her religion) appreciates honor and family and is a good fighter. She has a bit of mistrust issue with aliens, needs to feel some kind of connection with shepard and recently is hurt because her love for shepard has been rekindled after his death.
I love Miranda because she's an independant woman with a capital I. She's intelligent, good looking, confident and persuasive. She has the markings of a great leader, is an advanced biotic and tech user and is extremely loyal when you gain her trust for the right reasons. She feels like her accomplishments are meaningless because she was "crafted" and not born and she is confident because she sees her strengths and weaknesses are both just a result of crossing good genes. Like Ashely, she appreciates family.
I love both these women. Seeing them both grow as characters (Ashley from a sarcastic teammate to your lover in battle and Miranda from cold and distant to open and trusting) is a marvelous sight in either game and they're both amazing. All the romances have their sparks and Miranda and Ashley are both top notch. I too wish Samara and Kasumi were romancable though =)

Yes, Miranda is the best, and since both my Shepard and Miranda won't settle for anything less, they're made for each other. Even so, in ME1 my Shepard hadn't found Miranda yet, and Ashley is nice, too. I'm curious about how the love triangle will play out in ME3. My Shepard moved on, but I think Ashley will refuse to see it that way at first.Melrache wrote...
I don't plan to try any of the other LIs [but Miranda]. Why change,
when you got the best already?

I want both. Both women are tough, independent, and can kick your ass in the blink of an eye. Yet they both have a tender, vulnerable and loving side to their character.
