I'm trying to compare a straight fighter's damage with a swashbuckler's damage dual weilding a blade of the rose in the main hand and belm in the offhand. For comparison, both chars are using a 19 str belt and are at level 40. The fighter has 5* in both long swords and scimitars with 3* in two weapon style. Swashbuckler has 2* in long sword and scimitar and 3* in two weapon style (remember swashbucklers can specialize in any weapon a thief can use).
Blade of roses does 2d4+3 damage = 8 average damage
Belm does 1d8+2 damage = 6.5 average damage (and adds another attack per round)
A fighters added damage is 7 for Str, 3 for grand mastery= +10
A Swashbuckler's added damage is 7 for Str, 2 for specialized and 9 for 40 levels = +18
So for an average round:
Fighter does 9/2 attacks per round (3.5 for main hand and 1 for off-hand)= 3.5x(8+10) + 1x(6.5+10) = 79.5
Swash does 7/2 attacks per round (2.5 for main hand and 1 for off-hand)= 2.5x(8+18) + 1x(6.5+18) = 89.5
For an average round with haste:
Figher does 11/2 attacks per round = 4.5x(8+10) + 1x(6.5+10) = 97.5
Swash does 9/2 attacks per round = 3.5x(8+18) + 1x(6.5+18) = 115.5
For an average round with imp haste:
Fighter does 159
Swash does 179
So, comparing the two, the swashbuckler does better melee damage. A fighter's base THAC0 is 0 and the Swash is 1 when you factor in the 9 bonus to hit. The swash has a -9AC bonus which puts him with same negative ACs that fighters with the best armor and shields have. The fighter has better saves. The thieves have thieving skills. A Kensai will definately do more damage but will have lower defenses and a berseker will have the immunities.
Is their something I'm overlooking?
Thoughts?

Pls check my math, F vs. Swash

Swashbucklers don't get an extra 1/2 attack per round for specialization - only warriors have this benefit, so the swash should have 3 attacks per round.Windfoot wrote...

Also, grandmastery adds +4 damage in original game (not +3) and +5 if you use TGM tweak.
It's not possible to go over 5 attacks per round with vanilla haste, also haste always leaves a character with a whole number of attacks (not fractional) and the offhand attack isn't counted under vanilla haste, strange but true.Windfoot wrote...

ok, for a normal round:(added 1 to fighter damage per attack)
fighter does 84
Swash does 76.5
And for a hasted round:
Fighter does 5 attacks per round for 93.5
Swash does 4 attacks per round for 102.5
fighter does 84
Swash does 76.5
And for a hasted round:

Swash does 4 attacks per round for 102.5

That's pretty much it, fighters under improved haste still outdamage swashbucklers.
Swashbucklers can outdamage fighters if using whirlwind, but they miss out on critical strike.
