1. What version of the game are you playing: physical disc or digital download (along with which vendor)?
v1.03 - Physical Disc

2. System Details
Processor:  Intel® Core™ i7 CPU       X 980  @ 3.33GHz  Clock Speed: 3503 MHz  RAM: 11.9 GB
Display Adapter: (2) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580    VRAM: (2) 1.50 GB   Driver Version: 270.61
Sound Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Driver Version: 6.0.1.6101
Configuration Utility | Platform Tab
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate  Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
DirectX Version: DirectX 11 (Jun2010) or later

Running @ 1920 x 1080 in DirectX 11

Details about your problem.
1. What is the nature of the problem you are seeing?
Overrall the game is running smoothly. However; while playing full screen, the game will at seemingly random times, switch from full screen to windowed at the same resolution. Dialogue scenes seem to have it occur more often than regular gameplay. I've had a cutscene intervene after it was windowed and the game seemed to minimize until I alt tabbed (during the cutscene) and it went full screen again.  (The cutscene in question is the one at the end of the tutorial where they leave Ferelden)

I haven't figured out what exactly causes the game to switch to windowed mode, again, it seems random to me, and I've only seen cutscene behavior once, but that was only time those exact circumstances have been present so far.

2. When did the problem start occurring?
This started occurring after I rolled my video driver back from 275.50 to 270.61. I used the Nvidia install for 270.61 to install overtop of 275.50.

3. Where does your problem occur?
Doesn't  seem to matter what I'm doing, it can go from full-screen to windowed at just about anytime. The only time I haven't seen it do it is during Varric's cutscenes.

4. What are the steps in replicating the problem?
Not sure, I'm assuming its either driver or patch related though.

You may want to try a wipe and clean install of the video drivers since that seems to have precipitated the issue.

Edited to add: Instructions can be found here.

This seems to have cleared up of its own accord....
Proving yet again, that sometimes, threats of imminent physical violence work. Posted Image

Threats of violence, or a re-boot. Reboots solve a remarkable number of problems.

Click configure on the game start up, you will see the option to tick/untick a box which says 'Play in full screen mode' this solved my same problem.

True, but no reboot occurred. When I'm not gaming, the PC is crunching for the greater good, so it doesn't get rebooted unless there's a patch requiring it.

Also, I was able to click the full screen box again, once I was in a position to bring the menu up. However, since the switch usually happened during some sort of dialogue, bringing the menu up usually had to wait a bit. That did not however, prevent the switch from occurring again afterwards. Very annoying.
