Are there any non-companions you would have liked to romance? (oops...a spoiler)

I would imagine my agressive hawk who is without romance with Petrice in a fanfic, but I think that a priestess isn't allowed to sleep with a man ...Too bad.
They are not. But if you stand by Petrice she is ostracized from the Chantry. I imagine Petrice will then start a new, better, church. As she says the faithful still need her. Think of Luther and how he started out as a Catholic but managed to marry a nun before he died, and without angering God if you take his word for it.

Petrice is kind of pretty. So is Meredith.

I disagree on both accounts, about the ugly personalities that is. They both do what they do for noble reasons. To protect their fellow man. Meredith especially seem to be driven out of love, for mages and all, whereas Petrice is to some extent animated by less admirable traits like fear and hate. Still I can but sympathise. We should assume she comes from the North and has a troubled past. It is suggested that she has experienced a qunari conversion wave and the horrors such a thing entails. If Hawke befriends her she can be encouraged to be less overzealous.
While Meredith is clearly unfit for her office she would no doubt have performed admirably given a subordinate position under someone stable. She deeply cares for and wants to protect the mages something that is much needed in the templar body where brutes like Ser Alric, with truly ugly personalities, seem to be all too common.

For Petrice, This is a dedicated person, who is ready to take action to defend the cause in which she believes.
The Qunari are clearly a threat to Kirkwall and their religion. They have established themselves as masters in the city. And the High Priestess doesn't care. Faced with a threat, she is useless.
Petrice is determined and courageous, she goes to meet danger, and she isn't afraid to sacrifice her status for what she believes is right.
We may not agree with her fanaticism, but she is a true and strong woman.
Hawk finally won her respect and she will see in you the hero who will protect the people against future threats.

We must have played completely different games then. In my game she repeatedly breaks Chantry laws that are in place to protect mages, by turning mages Tranquil left and right even after the Harrowing and ignoring it when her templars abuse their charges. By act II she declares supporting apostates a hanging offense. By act III she wants every mage in the Gallows executed and when she fails to persuade the Grand Cleric to approve for a Right of Annullment she sends it to the Divine in Orlais instead.
I'm not sure how you can read 'love' into anything she does. There may have been a point where she was driven by a desire to protect, but that has long since been replaced by an intense hatred and fear of mages.
As for the topic in question, I don't rightly know. Charade was pretty wicked, but she's your family, so ew. Not going to go there. Perhaps that horrible poet in the Hanged Man, just for the endless giggles I would get out of it.

Meredith is mad in Act 3 because of the idol.
Meredith is against the solution of Alrick in Act 2.
I totally agree. Duty has lost its rationality, her love has come to be consumed by fear and hatred. She wasn't evil in the beginning. As I said, she should have longer appear in the game. I can understand one may think she is fundamentally evil from the beginning.Queen-Of-Stuff wrote...

The work wasn't as good as for Loghain.

I highly doubt that her opposition to Alrik originated from a sense of altruism. For one, it would be incredibly stupid to throw away magic as a resource when faced with such a military threat that the Arishok and his Qunari make. Not to mention, in Kirkwall, the templars get their political power from controlling the mages - if they made everyone of them Tranquil, Meredith would lose a lot of her power.
*Sigh* If only Greagoir was in charge.

I didn't speak of altruism but of pragmatism like has tought this dear Gregoir for the circle of Ferelden. That's why she wasn't mad. She knew that the solution of Alrick was entered into a furious demagoguery and that it wouldn't be effective. On the contrary it would make things even worse. As I said, be a knight-commander, requires rationality, not love, for the sake of all. And Meredith has proven to be rational in denying the solution of Alrick. Yet she is is very rude with the mages.Queen-Of-Stuff wrote...

And Altruism she has, but not for mages, for the people. The Mages, well, she had no particular emotion against them at first, other than just commune distrust like all the Templars.
The idol and the worsening situation will accentuate her madness. It's a vicious cycle that she has herself begun. But again, not intentionally. She thought she was doing her duty for the good of Kirkwall and its citizens.
Well I prefer Gregoire, too.

I am sure a lot of people would agree that Sister Petrice, as inapproriate as it sounds, deserved some rough anal pounding.
I actually made a topic about this a few months ago as well. Personally, I never really understood why there weren't any non-companion romances, as the whole game takes place in one city,

Athenril.
My fave fem elf NPC from either game. I actually wouldn't mind a sort of prequel DLC involving the first year in Kirkwall so we can see more of the mercenary or smugglers. Carver's comments RE mercenaries are amusing and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them.
He's my second choice. I actually think he looks better than his DAO version.alex90c wrote...
