I was playing DA2 at my friends house and seen it on sale on Steam so I got it and put my saved game on a USB stick I loaded the game and it says I don't have "Meta Items" installed. What DLC is this so I can get it?
What DLC pack is "Meta Items"?

Closest thing to "meta items" would be the Mage Item Pack. Are you sure you read it correctly? This is all the currently available DLC for Dragon Age 2: http://social.bioware.com/page/da2-dlc

I have that installed already actually. I am 100% sure it says "Meta Items". I am 29 hours into the game on the 3rd act and the oldest save that works is one of the first times or the first time you are in Gamlen's House.
Is there anyway to edit the save to allow that DLC to not be installed?

That's pretty strange, seeing as there's no such thing as "meta items." From what I understand, you can use the DA toolset to modify save games, but I've never used that. I'm sure someone else here can assist you with that though. The only other thing I can find related to Dragon Age 2 with "meta" in the title is this mod: http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2446

Yeah, the first name of MetaGame Abilities was Meta Items. That's the mod you need to load your save.

You can edit the mods associated with the save file to get it to work, but this may introduce errors to the game if the mod was extensive. Here's a basic rundown:
1) Download pyGFF from http://social.biowar...m/project/1936/
2) Using editor.exe, open the save file in question
3) Find your way to savegame_addinslist
4) Delete the entries that you don't have installed

I was missing this mod but thanks for the replies it might help others that come along.
Bioware for future reference it might be helpful if official DLC gets labeled accordingly so that a Mod can not be mistaken for official DLC. It should come up as "Meta Items (Mod)" or something similar.
