Probably because every character in ME2 can die.

Granted. but to get everyone killed off during the suicide mission was to fail it... you wouldnt be able to load that Shepard into me3 anyway..
Besides if you got people killed you should be forced to deal with it...

What it really comes down to is I want my favorite characters back andIi dont care about the others

exactly, I played me1 liked garrus, wrex, and liara then played me2 romanced miranda and liked pretty much everyone sans jack and jacob now i've got VS, liara, tali and some new gorilla lookin guy taking the spot for Miranda, Grunt , Samara, Thane or any of the me2 squad. Needless to say Im worried but optomistic that I wont be forced to take along squaddies that I would rather leave on the ship.

1. I have Liara. If I dont get Chakwas I wont cry.
2. Wrex needs to lead the Krogan, we got GRUNT.
3. Vega is in his DLC attire but it looks SWEET!
4. Ashley looks like a woman now. This is a good thing.

And Vega looks like an incredibly dumb dudebro character. He may not be, but that is indeed what he looks like, generic soldier #8 with a hawk to appeal to a certain demographic. He stands out especially in ME which started as a very cool take on 80's sci-fi soap imagery.

There's been tons of stuff made to appeal to certain demographics from the very beginning. Hot blue space babes who all just happen to go through a 'stripper' phase in their youth and also just happen to like doing it with other hot babes is the best example.

Of course, that is part of the "80's sci-fi soap imagery" I was talking about in case you were not paying attention.

Vega seems to appeal more to the military shooter crowd, I think that is very clear. I don't mind if that is the purpose, I mind that Bioware seems to be stretching themselves to appeal everyone, but especially those that never bought the previous games. And they are doing that on the third game of the trilogy.

As a fan of the initial concept of the first game I find that approach pretty discouraging and I think I am not alone on that. Vega indeed looks rather dumb, market consensus based character and personally I'd like to see more of the aliens explored within the ME Universe, and less boring military shooter protoype marines that are present in any other shooter nowadays.

It's not like they're replacing every single character. They'll still have to 'deal with it', but the game will still lend a hand. Bioware was aways this way, I think. Except maybe in the Baldur's Gate age.

*Tilts head*
He does kind of look like Jory, doesn't he?

He looks like a d-bag, and I'd rather they just re-use absmaster Jacob.

Biggest character disappointment? We know nothing about his character. I'm excited about him, precisely for this reason - he's new and we know nothing about him, unlike all those old characters. I hope there will be more new characters.

"Vega might disappoint" - this made me laugh. Yes, he might. Horrifying, isn't it? Hard to handle the unknown. The entire game might disappoint. Horrible, simply horrible. The possibilities.

Many people are quick to judge by the looks, I see. I suppose Tali is lucky that nobody can see her face. She might not disappoint, this way - ever.

Vega looks a bit like the Miz from WWE to me, lol.

Also, biggest disappointment for me thus far is Ashley; why are they doing this to her? As I said before, we have space **** Miranda to appeal to all the little jimmies out there...

So, what's the deal? All of us got Grunt as a squadmate; yet, many found him on T'chanka if he wasn't killed. I know I didn't kill him because I went "WREX!" after he said, "Shepard!" If you didn't kill him, he replaces the default clan leader. Speak to him about Grunt's problem among other things.

"Shut up! I don't wanna hear about 'Little Jimmy this or Little Jimmy that!" :police:

(Way off topic, but I think we might just become friends)

The game is far from finished, so anything could change. If it makes you feel any better, we'll **** if Miranda starts to resemble Ashley. Deal?

Psst: Cena's on his way down here!

Want to know what will disappoint me?

If in ME 3 just like in ME 2 space is just like a swimming pool, you know as long as you have a mask over your face you can survive in deep space. Looking at you every character except for Tali, Garrus, Legion, and Shepard. They're the only people to put on some sort of protection depending on the environment.

but this is a small thing so I won't be disappointed.

I think its a bit premature to start threads like this considering we know comparatively little about the characters. We cant really say much except **** about the inconsequential.

Looking at James Vega makes me laugh XD, he looks like such a dork.

Seeing the new Ashley is a bit shock though, I didn't know the girl with her hair down and over the side of her face was Ashley O_O. I thought that was a new character lol!

well i realized bioware shat on a good majority of  their fans and a few more things; lets discuss

-No new LI
-James vega's look
-Wrex most likely wont be a permanent squady
-gave ashley a nose job and gave a feministic look
-vega might disappiont
- pre-chosen permanent squadies

I'm pretty sure i wont like how they handle wrex, because they pissed in his ear and told him it was rain in ME2, so im pretty sure they're goin to sh*t on him from such a height he'll think god did it himself.

list your disappointments

Let me point this out first.

1. Already confirmed that there will be new LIS.
2. He's designed as he was described.
3. No one is permanent in ME3.
4. No, she just got a new outfit.
5. The game is not out yet, I think we should hold judgment until then.
6. Like I said, no one is permanent.

The only disappointment I have is  the fact that ME3 is released on March 6, 2012. I wanted it this year.

Edited for grammar and missing words

So this imagery is just retro catering really. Not sure how it's better or worse than modern catering.

I am disappointed with that, the Bioware forums become so moan heavy it makes me want not to come back here any more. People nit pick everything that is revealed about the game. More and more I catch myself thinking that people are so serious nowadays like it was a contest or something, just take it easy damnit. In fact Vega's armour looks like Cerberus troopers armour.
So more and more I become disappointed that these forums became walls for moaners and haters and trolls! Yes, people already dislike things that will change for the final product. The game is still in development, so many things may change. Yes, I expect to be flamed because of that post, but I don't care. /flameshield on

-No new LI

I thought it was confirmed that there will be

-James vega's look

I like his look. Its distinctive. There's already a 'pretty boy' LI with Kaidan.

-Wrex most likely wont be a permanent squady

I have no problem with this. It wouldn't make sense given his position and his character motivations.

-gave ashley a nose job and gave a feministic look

I can't tell if her nose is different, though if true that sucks. And yes, I thought in ME1 her hair was practical, which suited her character. I don't like her new hair for that reason.

-vega might disappiont

So might every character and plotline. I don't understand this complaint. Vega MIGHT be epic -shrug-

- pre-chosen permanent squadies

Yeah? You can't expect them to write for every possible me1 and 2 squadmate so the player can choose who they want to take unless you want characters to be incredibly shallow in this installment.

My biggest disapointment is with Ash's looks and the mentioned character change. I want my ME1 Ash back.

She should wear armor instead of this horrible Miranda treatment that she is getting from BW.

Stop crying. It has been confirmed on tweeter that Ashley will be able to wear normal armour (like in ME1).

I really would like to believe that but all BW shows us are these skin tight catsuits she is in. That is not in line with her character.

I will shut up as soon as Bioware gives us some screenies with Ash in armor in ME3

I like how this is put out point by point.

It should be noted that none of this is really set in stone as of yet - the end product is a long way off.  I am beginnning to think that the story - as it will be told, and its complications will be far different than ME2.  We have to unite the entire galaxy - gain new friends and allies through a series of missions and political meanderings in order to battle the Reapers and Cerberus.  In other words, the story is gonig to have to be pretty large.  ME2 was one "Jump  in there and kick some butt" fightfest with gaining a big bad squad and each members' loyalty.  ME3
will have to be a bit more diverse, and I can see it being more to do with helping out all over the place rather than just get a squad, go forth - whip some butt.  Its not like the Normandy herself can take on a Reaper....

A fair point, you can find that tweet in "The Twitter thread or Kaindan, Ashley, James & Liara" threads. Good thing I haven't told you to shut up :) I don't see any horrible treatment for Miranda. Does her suit really matters? Is it a real life breaker/saviour ?  It's not a big deal as this is just a game (to me).
