...but back OT.. this is a mature game..and I agree.. BRING ON more sex scenes.. hell im going to mod it so they don't show only once, but EVERY time you do it
I just may make a rated R version of some of the scenes. I mean with NO clothes on and ALL the pvt parts LOL, but I would probably have to post it to my own personal website. Not sure EA/BW would allow such mod on this site
We also need a new character design tool so we can not only modify faces but bodies as well.. lean to athletic to muscular to fat, etc... height.. blah blah. The one that comes with the game SUCKS

Can someone explain to me why, from a "Christian" point of view, beheadings are completely OK, but people making love ain't?
I love this game, I'm on my 4th playthrough, but Iwouldn't really let my kids play it. Heck, I know several 20-year olds I wouldn't really feel comfortable with playing this :-P
And it's not even the blood and gore (the sex scenes are utterly harmless and actually so forcibly "tasteful" they are cringeworthy at best). It's the dark story, the moral choices and the amount of atrocities that happen and might even be committed by the player...

One thing I've been asking myself for a long time. Maybe I'm simply too uninvolved, since I've left the Catholic Church 23 years ago (and have never really been a practitioner before that), but I've always wondered about the logic.

To start this off, I believe in God, and I hold a Christian point of view, but I'm non-practicing and don't generally attend church (except when my girlfriend and I are visiting her Catholic parents). I have my own ideas on God, and they have a kind of Taoist twist to them.
The question your asking is a very involved one. The "violences is ok but sex isn't" statement is very simplistic and it's an argument made mostly by people who've never really put any thought into it.
First off, violence is not morally ambiguous. It's very easy to watch a violent film and remind a child that violence is wrong, period, end of story (I have my personal arguments with that philosophy, but it's wrong in enough cases that a child can be taunt an absolute and be able to seperate it when he's old enough to get into the philosophy of it).
That's a much tougher argument to make with sex. You can't tell a kid who just saw a porn that sex is wrong, can you?
Furthermore 90%+ of the violence in this game is justifyable. The protagonist is rarely the initiator of it, is in most cases defending themselves, and is fighting, usually, demonstrably evil enemies.
On the other hand, all of the sex... 100% of it... is, from a Christian point of view, immoral.
And finally, the biggest reason Violence is OK but Sex is not: You can take sex out of all mediums of entertainment and still find entertainment. Movies, books, and (especially) video games would be damn boring without it. We, as a society, subconsciously understand this.

Here I disagree. And it's NOT only the blood and gore and the fighting as I stated.
You can *choose* to wipe out everyone in the Circle tower just "to be on the safe side", including innocents and children. You can *choose* to side with the Werewolves and slaughter an entire colony of elves. You can *choose* to be pragmatic about the anvil of the void, a thing that utterly destroys people, body and soul, in an "end justifies means" approach. You can kill Connor, just because yo're too lazy to look for an alternative. And you can kill *many* opoonents who have surrendered and who you could just as easily let go, simply because you choose to.

Yeah, but WHY? Is there any rational point to that apart from an outdated medieval moral theology?
The point being, you can makes dozens of utterly unethical, appaling and evil choices in the game, but I can't see *anything* unethical, immoral or bad about sleeping with sweet Leliana

People being opinionated and wanting to should their opinions from the rooftops doesn't bother me one bit. What bothers me is that most of the people who do never study their opinions, never look at the philosophy behind what they're talking about. If you're liberal and don't know who Jean Jacques Rousseau is, if you're conservative and don't know who Thomas Payne is (or, just as important, vica virca), then you haven't looked deep enough to truly understand what it is you believe. If you haven't studied it, you can't possibly understand it (teenagers, especially, tend to give every issue a quick glance and go on gut. Their positions sound perfectly reasonable to them because they have no idea how to look any deeper. This is why social change that is primarily pushed by "Youth Movements" generally end in disaster).

If anyone developed a Mod, the place to ask would be in the Toolset, not here.
