I've read various forums about whom each person wants to return as a squad mate. Some people hate certain squad mates and others love them. I personally think Bioware should do the ultimate fan service to their fans with this final installment. What I am proposing is the choice to choose your squadmates.

Bioware's games have always been about choice, so I say, why not extend it to squad mates as well? If the player doesn't like Jack for instance, they have the option not to recruit her all together. For the potential squad member not recruited, they would help shepard in some other way in the fight with the reapers. Example: If you didn't recruit Mordin he would be curing the genophage or organizing the STG. If you do recruit him, Mordin creates the cure on the Normandy. This would truly let the player make shepard their own even further. One player's squad could be completely different than anothers.

There would of course be a limit to how many you could recruit. Each player would be given a certain number of slots to be filled and the player fills them with the characters they want. Players would alsoi have the option to throw memebers from the squad such as Kaiden/Ashley. If they are a memeber of your squad and you are fed up with them, the player can literally dismiss them from the Normandy. Giving the player more power and truly feel like the commanding officer of a ship.

Avalible squadmates could be everyone for ME1 and 2 along with several new options for those who wish to recruit them. This way everyone would be pleased. What do you think of this? Please share your oppinions

That would leave too much unplayed game content. Looking back on the trend since past Bioware Games, I doubt that this level of freedom would be allowed. Sure, in BG you could ditch Imoen as soon as you're out of Candlekeep. But Imoen was a sprite with a few lines of written dialogue. Amateur modders could build larger content on their spare time. But Nowadays, Bioware-EA is a slightly different vehicle. Consider how Liara's recruitment in ME1 was cut down and transferred to the DLC. It becomes more and more difficult to cut written content from the game. Bioware is in fact doing a great deal just by fragmenting Gamer experience into multiple choice scenarios as it is.

So I don't think it would happen.

But if given the choice I would push the VS, Jack and Jacob off the ship should we land on a deserted planet.

yeah Rulid I agree with you for the most part. I just don't want a bunch of useless and boring squadmates on my team that i never use. Like this james vega guy. He is the classic human that bioware just throws in that nobody likes.The only humans squad mates that i actually liked in the series were DLC (Zaeed and Kasumi). Vegs looks like a steriod junkie that will be the biggest idiot ever. If anything i'd just like to kick him the VS, Jack and Jacob off the ship. Maybe i'd kick Miranda off too only to make room for more awesome people. She's one of the better humans but if i could make room for Wrex I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I would be happy with this, a permanent squad of 6 and all the rest will be a squadmate for some particular mission: as Example Legion and Tali during the missions on the Quarian-Geth problem.

Many people think that 6 people is just not many enough, but even if they gave us 300 squadmates I know that I will only use 6 of them because everyone has favorite characters that they will prefer to use

If I was given the choice to recruit whoever I wanted from who we know it would be:

Garrus
Tali
Liara
Wrex
Mordin
Legion
Thane

(Maybe Zaeed, Kasumi, Grunt, and Samara for a different play through. I'd recruit Grunt if I could have two krogan, doubt it though and the same for samara if I could have two asari. I'd test the newcomers. If I hated them these guys are welcome to come back)

That leaves 3 slotes for any new guys bioware wants to make.

yeah, i think this may actually work out. we already know that the team is smaller in ME3 than ME2, but not just six like ME1. but yeah, i'd take garrus, tali, ashley, legion, liara, and thane (if alien cancer doesn't kill him)

if I had the choice of recruitment i would pick:

Miranda: My LI and a damn good XO, not to mention her brains and combat skill + her research abillity and knowledge (she did brought me from the dead ) )

Garrus: I need my backup squad leader and best fried, his sniper to sniper (even though i play mostly as a infiltrator)

Liara: Damn good biotic and a good friend.

Grunt/Wrex : (not sure about these two but i think Grunt mostly 'cuz Wrex has his people to worry) DAMN GOOD TANKS, I say both are equall even though Grunt is a 'pure Krogan', Wrex has exp. that he lacks plus Wrex is a biotic.

Legion: Does damn good job as a tech guy and his sniper skill come in handy.

Tali/Kasumi: (not sure about them either) very good techs, and me needs a backup

Samara: Her biotics rival those of a matriacrh so .... i don;t need to say more.

Kaidan: I do need a operative/Sentinel and i kinda killed ash most of the times

This kinda sums it up, and i still think there are slots left open

Well, I'd like all those who survived ME1 and ME2 to be in ME3 and at least be present with dialogue, but as for who I'd like to be on the Normandy, this would be my preference:

• Joker as Pilot
• Miranda as XO
• Grunt and Zaeed as my fireteam / squad
• Mordin in the Science Lab and Specialist
• Jacob running the Armory and able to sub for Grunt or Zaeed when needed
• and Tali working with Ken and Gabby when she's on board, (I'd have Kal'Reegar assigned as her bodyguard too.)

I think Garrus, Kaidan/Ash should lead their own fireteams / squads (and maybe under Shepard's Command).

And Kasumi and Thane should work with Liara directly, because of their skills and experience. Jack and Samara would be the Specialists working under the leadership of Garrus or Kaidan/Ash. And the Vega dude as an Alliance Marine could be following Kaidan/Ash around in Kaidan's/Ash's squad.

And as much as I like Wrex being around, he needs to lead his people. Also, I think Legion is a wildcard, and might be with the Geth.

I just hope to see all of the squad returning for at least a mission or two.(with the exception of Ashley/Kaiden, as one had to die in ME1) Personally I liked all of them, due to the fact they had unique characteristics. James Vega has me curious as to whether or not I want new squad-mates. The people I really want to see more of are Jack, Thane, and Samara. I loved their roles! Grunt was a typical Krogan, Legion was pretty BA, and Zaeed and Kasumi were both late additions. Miranda and Jacob might still be Cerberus, so that's troublesome. I just hope BioWare doesn't throw too many curve-balls.
