Hi all/Bioware, just wondering if we'll get a patch to fix the remaining bugs in ME2? The main ones I've noticed are:

- Firepower Pack DLC (Phalanx/Geth Shotgun/Mattock)
Sometimes in cutscenes, sometimes not. Basically when you equip the M-5 Phalanx/Geth Plasma Shotgun/M-96 Mattock, in some citscenes Shepard will draw it, but in others s/he draws the standard pistol (Predator), shotgun (Katana), or Assault Rifle (Avenger) instead.

- Ish sidequest journal bug
If you tell Ish to sod off and neither give him the information or give it to Anto, the journal doesn't update and leaves it as an open quest.

- Illium: skip landing/departure cutscenes
This is the only major planet where pressing esc during the landing/leaving cutscenes doesn't do anything. In fact, you simply can't skip the cutscenes here even though you can for the other planets.

- Asari Consort and Sirta Foundation import bugs
Regardless of what you do for the Consorts sidequest, ME2 always has the negative outcome. The Sirta Foundation sidequestion (UNC: Beseiged Base) also always assumes the negative outcome of many deaths even if Shepard saves everyone.

- M-29 Designation Bug
Unlike everyone other weapon in the game with a military designation, the M-29 Incisor doesn't change its designation when it's upgraded - it's always just the M-29. This is an easy fix, as seen in my signature.

- Shepard clipping in bar on Illium
When you're at Eternity on Illium and speak to the Asari barkeep, if you order a drink Shepard 'jumps' forward, into the bar itself, to drink, and then steps back into normal space.

- Female Shepard clipping through dress from Kasumi loyalty mission
In some actions, such as sitting down with arms resting on her knees, femshep will clip through her dress.

- Conrad Verner
Always Renegade Shepard, regardless of what you did in ME1

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
Since everyone is back, or will be, for ME3 voice recording, why don't you get Miranda and/or Jacob and the Shepards to record one extra piece of dialogue? At the start of ME2 Miranda and Jacob ask about who became the councillor in ME1 because the auto-save is before that decision, so it allows the player to set the choice at the start of ME2. Why not just record an extra line something like:

Miranda/Jacob: So Shepard, you had to deal with a rather persistent fan of the Citadel after Eden Prime. What happened to him?

Shepard:
I convinced him to go home (Paragon --> alternative meeting on Illium in ME2)
I don't remember any fan (Neutral --> Does not appear in ME2)
I showed him the realities of war, he needed to hear it (Renegade --> On Illium in ME2)

Actually, the paragon response for Conrad actually involves Eternity's owner slapping Shep and mouthing off at him because a "member of his squad" is causing trouble. You use the modfied Gibbeds save editor to correctly set the flag.

Not sure what they would be able to do with the clipping bugs tho, might require some extansive engine work that could blow patch sizes out to gigs.

Agree with the others though.

Really? Huh, the only one with Conrad I'd heard about was the email about him creating a group called the 'Shepards' to help people.

wasn't their a issue importing the paragon quest from mass effect even if you saved all the scientists it thinks all of them died

Indeed that's correct Stephen, I've added both the Sirta Foundation (UNC: Beseiged Base) and Asari Consort import bugs to the list.

ah ok nice i know on the PC version you can download mass effect save editior and have it import properly but that sorta of leaves the console people out in the dust

but my big question is though is that a issue from mass effect 1 like that had when you try import something from dragon age: awakening into dragon age 2 where their is a actually problem with 1st game which i hope is not the case otherwise they might not be able to fix this

Well they can, all they need to do is reset the flag at the start of ME2 if the flag is always set incorrectly in ME1.

I found this very annoying, since I saved all the scientist and I want to keep Ish's data for me...I'm about to start my definitive playthrough, and I don't want to use the save editor, because I'm afraid of getting something corrupted... Damn, I can't even give to my Femshep a proper haircut!

I agree, Conard Verner, the Asari Consort, and especially the Sirta Foundation sidequests would be nice to have fixed. I took great care to save all the scientists, and for that to be flagged as they all died, well it means that all my effort was for nothing.

I know I could use the save editor, but I'd like to not mess around too much with it, an official fix would be preferable.

You know Bioware should have a PC weekend sometime where they release a fix for this, and have a DLC sale for all the Mass Effect 2 DLC on PC. Who's in support for that?

These are such minor issues. Do you really want them to take developers off ME3 to fix these niggling little things?

...yes. Well firstly, we don't know if they'd be the same people, but the thing is that it impacts on one of the big selling points of the ME franchise - your choices making a difference in the game. Conrad is the biggest one, it makes your choice in the first game completely pointless.

In addition you could go to the same old argument of 'why bother fixing the old game when they can develop a new one'. It's like your car breaking down and people saying it shouldn't be fixed because then the engineers/mechanics can spend more time building a new car for someone else.

Conrad Verner is repairable, other import bugs not though.

Given that three of these things actually have an impact on the plot of the game, and ME2 is part of the plot of ME3, I certainly would like to see them fixed. It's really sad to make a decision or an effort in ME1 and not see it reflected in ME2. I'm not saying that they should prioritize it or whatever, but maybe when they're working on the inevitable "Ultimate Edition" of ME2, they could fix this stuff?

Honestly, two lines of Conrad's dialogue change. You get an email, and then randomly hear something on the newsnet.
Hardly game breaking stuff and they'll either be fixed or ignored in ME3 to no consequence either way.

It has been said that ME Choices, are going to have "real" consequences on ME3. Besides all this data transfer thing, is what made the ME experience what it is...

and Ish may play a big role on the third one... Salarians are sneaky!

Black Raptor - actually, if you look at the clip I linked in the OP that's not the case. As no it being of no consequence, how many times have you played ME3 to confirm this hmm?

There's a distinct lack of appeal when it comes to issues of transferring decisions and quests not resolving thereby possibly not setting pertinent flags. The weapon related stuff is kind of negligible in comparison to that.
