Thank the maker my country was subjugated by the british for nearly 200 years. Atleast something good came out of it. Like me being able to understand english.

Many people here are able to understand english. That doesn't mean that we don't want to have the game in our mother tongue.

Meh, as long as the game isn't translated into Dutch, I'm game for everything.

Personally I don't see why you'd rather have a localized version than the superior English one, but go ahead.

+1 support for a proper Russian translation

Please, don't give them any ideas. Our (voice) actors suck. :pinched:

Voice acting is a huge part of bioware games. Considering how much care goes into characters' personas... I shudder to think how much a bad dub butches them. (And the atmosphere of the game too!)

I'm lucky enough to speak english well enough to play the originals, and I really, really feel bad for people who have to contend with a translation. Good russian dub happens once in a blue moon. Usually it is cringe-worthy at best.

If we talk voice acting in other languages, I'm agaist it. It cost a lot of money. Other hand subtitles should be done as many languages as possible to help people to understand. My opinion is maybe affected that I actually want english voice rather than my natural language. I consider quality of orginal work allways better option than sloppy other language, even if it's my own language.

you should see spanish vo actors .. dear lord  they hire same  10 people for every game and that's why most of spanish gamers prefer pirated english versions
tho i admit russian .. and german versions are the best ...ah the wonders of being polyglot

Well, as long as it's optional. Problem is, Russian publishers do tend to cut out the non-Russian parts in fears of export re-sales. And, of course, I still with to get access to the digital English version on the 6th or 7th of March. We have a public holiday on the 8th and, hence, a 3-day weekend. Would be a bit frustrating to get it right after it.

An ideal solution what I've seen so far was ME: Gold Edition. Full russian and full english versions on disc, english voices with russian subtitles are relatively easy to obtain by replacing the subtitles file. And everyone's happy.

One more question about localization: am I the only irritated by "popups" with translated signatures on Normandy's walls? I mean, that blue squares "highlighted but not activated from this position" with translation above appearing when Shepard approach to words "Normandy" or "Combat information centre"? Is there any way to get rid of them? Are there any chance ME3 will have localized textures or that EA Russia will assume we know that "Нормандия" means "Normandy"?

I hate translations in any case and I only use them if I really can't understand the subject matter otherwise, like with French :+. Subtitles over dubs any day.

I can see why you people want this but IMO translations usually ends up loosing something critical in the process. Being norwegian I speak as a victim of that.

Dude, Its not about just understanding English. English was my first language. My schooling was in english as was my college. English comes more naturally to me than any other language. Hell, even my dreams and swearing is in English.

Also, It was suppose to be a joke.

Bioware has listened and Dolph Lundgren will voice act all roles. His Ivan Drago was awesome.

I will say, that when a forgien film is released into an English Speaking country, we make do with subtitles... Well a classy film anyway.

Поддерживаю перевод. Во время просмотра роликов хочется смотреть на режиссерскую работу а не отвлекаться на субтитры. В конце концов жаждущие могут и отключитть русский звук, дабы наслаждаться оригинальной озвучкой
