Hello all,

few days ago, I have finished ME1 on normal and I really enjoyed that. I did not have a problems at all, but sometimes the instant kill of enemy rockets. AI of my allies sucked quite a lot too (extreme dissapintment), so they died very often (bad cover). I heard that AI is so much better in ME2. To the point then.

The first gameplay of ME1 was played with the adept - ended with 42th lv. And I was a bit "dissapointed". In all RPG's I like cleric like characters. That means force and some magical powers. So the Adept was a clear choice to me. But the skills were so "same". Dissable enemy somehow and kill him. That was for the normal/ veteran/hardcore on NG+ difficulty. I am sure insanity is really insane. But would  be Adept a good choice for first run on insanity for ME2? I heard it is one of the hardest characters there, and maybe the nature of this game is more similar to Gears of War to me, which I played on the highest Difficulty with my friend and really enjoyed it. So I am asking if should I hold the integrity of ME1 character and stick with Adept (dunno new stuff in ME2), or should I choose the Soldier, which shall be that GoW style. Other option would be nicely praised Vanguard, although he is a bit "get into the style" character and I do not have any experience with him. I am also thinking about Idea of finishing the game and then NG+ for higher lv (probably on insanity, too). Or maybe the start on some easy difficulty would be best for NG+.

Or should I play the game on the normal with whatever character and then probably to play it again with different on the same difficulty and then to play NG+ with the one character  a preffer and on insanity? I have heard that gameplay and power of classes really differs, when playing harder options. That is why, I wanted to try even the first game on the hardest one. Planning to start the game today, after the defragmentation of HDD... Hell, it is finished now.

Any input based on your experience is appreciated and sorry for my English.:D

My first play was with an adept on hardcore in ME2. It was tough in some situations. But its expected. I have played adept on insanity and its great fun. Your squadmate choices are important though.

You will most likely die a lot on insanity on your first play. So expect it. If it gets frustrating you can always move the difficulty down a level.

I've done Hardcore as an Adept and Insanity as an Infiltrator and to be fair i actually think it was harder with the Adept on Hardcore. I died a few times until i found a style that worked really well on how i play and after that it was a blast with a few challenges now and then.

On Insanity with my Infiltator i only had trouble during the beginning and after i got to upgrade the skills a little it went really well and it was amazing.

Just be ready to get your ass kicked until you find your style. After that you will still get killed but it will be a enjoyable experience and as an Adept you will depend a little on your choice of squadmates.

Well only you yourself know your playstyle and what your strengths and weaknesses are. The game will be pretty unforgiving on the higher difficulty levels so if you do go hardcore or insanity I'd suggest you stick to a class that suits your style and don't try to adventure beyond that until you find your feet. My strategy is quite conservative in that I'm going to jump up the difficulty by one level one for each playthrough until I reach insanity or can get no further! I've beaten ME2 on normal with a vanguard and am currently nearing the end of a playthough on veteran with a sentinel. Both playthroughs have been ace and very straight-forward. I'll try hardcore next and if that goes well then it'll be onto my insanity run. By that time I hope to have the game and my strategies well worked out and I think that's very important before taking on the game at it's hardest setting.

Anyway, best of luck with whatever path you choose and enjoy the game :o)
