So, I've been playing Mass Effect 2 for a while now and after I launched the game
today I noticed all my settings were reseted and there was no "RESUME" button in
the main menu. After I have changed my settings and loaded the right career (I
logged in to the online account) I noticed ALL my achievements are
gone.
Recently, I had to change password, because strangely my old one did
not work. I have heard about recent attacks of hackers and I wonder if it can be
connected with the issues.
I have the Collector's Edition ME
2.
Thank you for any help.
PS. I have contacted EA support, but they said they have forwarded the issue further on and asked me to post the issue on this forum. And so I do.

The "hacker attack" was on the old Bioware forums which housed Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, Mass Effect 1, Jade Empire, and all of Biowares older (pre EA buyout) games. It wouldnt be related to your loss of acheivements, as they are not stored on the web in any way.
You acheivements are stored in the following file;
My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/Biogame/profile/Player1.prf
The fact that there was no resume button seems to indicate that file has either become corrupted, or you have logged into Windows using a different user account, and thus lost access to the original file.
