Hello, I managed to do this trick three years ago but forgot it by the time I dusted off the game and toolset. How do you force helmets to show on NPCs in the OC? They're off by default. Tired of seeing Khelgar's flat top.

I've even forgotten how to open a given save in the toolset, so be gentle. :.)

The companions have unique heads and the helmets don't fit. I'm not sure what trick you referred to. It would have required either putting altered versions of the companion blueprints in the override folder (show helmet is a setting on the blueprint), or perhaps altering their spawn scripts to allow helmets (if there is a function for that - don't really know).

Regards

It's something really simple in the OC module, something like "npc helmets=no" to "=yes". Or if it's in the player.bic of every save, I don't remember. Enabling helmets was a common procedure a few years ago, but now I can't find any trace of it on the net! Doesn't anyone here know it?

And yes too, the helmets fit. They are off by a few inches on some of the companions, and you got some slight clipping or hair collisions at a few of them, but especially Khelgar and Neeshka benefit greatly from certain model headwear IMO.

One of my old screenshots, showing Shandra Jerro with a very matching circlet:

This was from March 2010.

Khelgar is a monk here and doesn't have anything on in the pic, but in my current playthrough I will let him remain a warrior, plate helms look great on him.

Grateful for info!

Hey, just thought of something! I still have some of the saves from the time I played with helmets on, could I somehow extrapolate the setting in one of those saves and make it stick in my current saves?

The critical component can't be in the module, because I'm playing on the same installation of NWN2 as I did when I took the above screenshot, but after starting a new campaign, the helmet option reset, so the script line has to be in the individual saves.
What I want to know is how to access them in the Toolset. I tried dragging and dropping of every individual file in a save folder into the Toolset, nothing seems to work.

I found the old thread that discussed this helmet thing, but the old link just goes to the front page of Bioware. Can anyone find this thread using the link script?

In the toolset copy each of the OC companion blueprints. Modify the copies to allow helmets. Save the modified blueprints in your override folder.

Maybe sometime between the last time you played and now you emptied your override folder.

Couldn't get the toolset to work, so I used a GFF editor to go into a savegame folder and open every individual .ros-file (elanee.ros, khelgar.ros) and changed the value "NeverDrawHelmet" to 0.

Worked like a charm!

While I was at it, I also put "NeverDrawArmor=0" on Zhjaeve and Ammon Jerro, It'll be really fun to deck them out in armor for once, never did that the last time around.

Another thing, when I was poking around in the "playerlist.ifo", I saw a line called "Creaturesize", and it was set to 3. I tried changing that value, first to 2 and then to 4, but I didn't see any change in my guy's size.
Is it possible to change the permanent size of the player with that value, and if so, what am I doing wrong?
