This Topic will be up until the debacle of a "Joker Romance" topic is shut down. Here. we can discuss the topic, that is basically testing my limits. The fanbase is trying to turn our loveable bro companion into. A. ROMANCE. OPTION. As if there wasn't enough ridiculous romance options.

With this topic we can hopefully get a good dialogue going on about Joker Romance and discuss the sillyness of the supporters without "the man" coming down and raining on our parade.

Since I've never done a support thread before. I'm not sure what I'm suppose to put in here. I do know, that the very thought of Joker being romanceable makes my stomache do backflips. There hasn't been a single byte of the mass effect universe that hasn't been tainted by some of these outlandish suggestions.It's like getting a new puppy, nurturing him to adulthood just to have it run over by a drunk driver.

The fact that NO ONE HAS YET TO CHALLENGE some of these suggestions, was enough to suspend my posting hiatus.


The case against Joker Romance:

-Stupid.

-He's our pilot. not your personal ******.

-We need characters that aren't just about virtual ******.

-Enough is enough


Things we don't want changed:
- His Hat
- His COMPLETELY PLATONIC relationship with EDI and Shepard.
- Less useless background information. he's my pilot, not my best friend.
- Funny one liners.
- remained crippled.

What this topic is about
-let's keep the bashing to a minimal. Keep it civil. (ish)
-making sure Joker will not become romanceable. no matter the cause

whats it matter if he is or isnt? if u dont want to romance him its pretty simple... dont. Let those that want to have their fun, have it and you can talk to him with normal conversation instead of choosing the romance dialogue. seems simple

(and for the record, i am not one who plans on romancing... i never even talk to him in ME2)

If you can't draw the parallel between Joker romance option and a giant purple dinosaur, then you need not be in this topic. this is a SUPPORT ANTI- thread. if you are for joker romance go to their topic.

honestly, i am neutral in this respect, i am merely looking for more serious reasons as to why it shouldnt happen... please enlighten me as to why being able to romance joker would make the game suck as bad as it would with a laser shooting dinasuar in it because i can be swayed here if your argument is real enough

how is it wasting your time if your not romancing him?
how is it breaking cannon if u choose not to romance him?

On the actual topic, I like Joker to stay as a friend rather than becoming a romance option.  The whole Normandy doesn't need to be in love with Shepard.  But I cannot agree with your way of presenting your argument.

Prettty much that.

I'm against making every single member of the crew romanceable, so I'd rather Joker remained in the freind/subordinate category.

That, and he's got a brittle bone disorder. Do we really need to see a romance scene of Fem Shep carrying his crippled ass to her bunk, followed by shouts of "Ouch," "Owww," and "Oh God..I think I just broke my fibula," are heard from the captain's quarters?

The Joker romance is a very bad idea.

I'm actually against all the new romances (and squadmates) people keep asking for; Joker, Chakwas, Parasini, Shiala and Aria. (one big, major WTF at the last four. the need to bang Joker I can somehow understand, but the others... just no.)

I agree with you completely except for the 'he is not my friend' part. I dont want him to be romanceable, but I do want him to be my pal, my friend.
He and shepard have been trough a lot together, things that create some kind of friendship......
