Wait, undermining the women's movement?
Did you have to bring sexism to the discussion? If you can't realize how eye candy has never been exclusive to one gender (Jacob, Thane, generic male body model) and don't realize that accusing someone of sexism is to accuse them of not believing that all people, regardless of gender have equal rights and equality in general, then you are probably undermining the women's movement yourself.
Did you think that pretending sexism can be ignored would be enough to keep it from being dredged up where it applies?
Shepard is always armored in combat, so pass on your suggestion there.
Thane was never forced into any catsuit. No wedge-heels. No skin-tight butt-cracks. No focus on torso-shape; obscuring jacket. And his "cleavage" is blended into the color of his clothing to avoid offending the dudebros who are, ironically, better able to detect exploitation against themselves than lots of women who are conditioned to deny female exploitation.
Jacob was never forced into any catsuit. No wedge-heels. Yes, there WAS skintight butt-crack. No focus on torso-shape; token armor on shoulders and arms. And no cleavage.
I will say both their outfits were ridculous, given what ME1 had already established. Those 2 and everyone else should've been wearing armor. And yeah they
were intended for exploitation, but in a half-assed way compared to what happened with Miranda, Samara, and Jack. Miranda and Samara weren't even allowed to have realistic proportions, on top of their male-imposed exposures.
Take those into account before you pretend that ME's been practicing equal-opportunity exploitation at all. Go ahead, say that I'm the one limiting women. Such a classy accusation to protect one's own emotional investment in preserving the "option" of catsuit hourglasses and wedge-heels forced onto women.
