I guess that's why he's the most fragile thing on the suicide mission.
It's not even funny how easily he can die there.

I would very much like to know where you have found 50-year-old women that look like that to such a degree as being commonplace.

Did everyone basically forget that Ashley will be actually wearing armor in the game and the 'catsuit' will be ship uniform? Even the whole mini skirt thing is DLC that you don't really have to make her put on.
exactly. so I think everyone needs to calm down. as far as i know this is only going to be advalable if you buy the collectors edtion.
So I think you guys IMO need to get over it. Its a GAME
I know I know, (the game should take itself seriously) but really I don't mind. In fact I really didn't pay attention to the armor thing. Because 90% of your focus is what you are shooting at.

Yup. And it will be put to rest when I see the armor and am satisfied that
1) It isn't painted on
2) it has all its parts: shirt, sleeves, no holes, pants, etc
3) It is worn properly and is sealable. Not opened to the waist, no "bad**** battle damage" It looks like something that a varren won't bite right through.
If I just had ME1 to go on, I'd be pretty confident of getting all that. But ME2 and to an extent DA2 have demonstrated something of a "form over function" philosophy where it doesn't matter if the outfit looks appropriate for the situation, the important thing is it looks cool.

I think that has more to do with his role as a scientist first and soldier second. Even though he was STG, they're more stealth and recon so I wouldn't expect him to be one of the most likely to walk out of a firefight, period.
Especially not when Kirrahe's squad needed me to take care of everything for them back on Virmire or they dropped like flies.
It's got nothing to do with the outfit. It has everything to do with a sustained frontal assault or a defensive stand in enemy territory not being things he's best suited for. He's good for strategic assaults, surprise attacks and defending home turf where he can use his core competencies and tactical abilities to turn the tide of battle. With traps, tech, deception and diversions.
I don't expect him to be a krogan tank even if he were wearing ultra heavy colossus armor.

Casey said that she'll be getting full armor + helmet. I think your worries are completely baseless. FULL armor =/= modded Oblivion warrior bikini and bondage whip. Especially not with Ash.

To be fair even Krogan are afraid of a Varren's bite. The armor that you want only a Krogan (or to an extent Shepard) could wear and fight in effectively.
Also you do have ME1 to go on since the people who wear armor in ME2 and have holes in it are Grunt who is a Krogan supersoldier and have armor custom made for him. Remember his hump isn't that large and most Krogan armor are designed for older Krogan it seems. Zaeed seems to have a sentimentality issue and likes his old beat up armor that seemes to have customizations to it like a Krogan shoulder pad on his shoulder. Jacob has been partially sexualized just like Miranda since his armor seems to be skin tight but likely is bullet resistant like Miranda's. Garrus likely wants to keep the battle scar as a reminder of what he lost on Omega.
More than likely Ashley like Kaidan (Who has full on armor) will get armor fit for a Soldier. Kaidan got it, Vega has it and Garrus got rid of his old armor. So far there really isn't much to go on to say that Ashley won't be wearing full armor since she has in ME1 and ME2.

??? that was a bad thing???
Also I think you have it wrong. its not biowares fualt its the modders and the people who use them. Alot of people (including me) like look over function.
Mainly because in games like DA and ME you have "Hitpoint" bar. Which doesn't exist IRL.
Now if it was a "skill" or "twich" based game where attacks are almost always fatal then I understand why we need bulky stuff.
So in reality to me its looks. To be honest while the ME1 helmets and stuff are functional and stuff it just doesn't look good.
Also we are used to action hero movies where the hero's don't wear helmets and stuff. so for the entertainment it has been engraved on us that the heros don't need the helmets because they don't get hit. And because this is a game and thus "entertainment" we allow ourselves to be seen in that kind of way.

So
Mass Effect is all about action-hero protagonists who can keep their eyes open in clouds of corrosive vapor and fight hordes of aliens in
high-heels and v-necked catsuits? Oh, that's right, ME2 set that precedent and I hate how cheap it's made the setting feel. Especially after ME1's strong start towards creating a coherent, solid trilogy.
I can understand why you wouldn't be interested in what a character wears as long as the game is entertaining, and I would never fault anyone for that, but you shouldn't assume that everyone is as passive, complacent or as uncritical as you. Heck, if you're invested in it enough to come here and argue with critics about the game's art, you probably should try to be a little more critical.

In the Cenamatics Biootics where bada**. Gameplay wise not so much.
Also just to turn aroudn your arguement, you shouldn't thus ruin my game experince on something that is 100% optional. Its the fact that "you haven't seen it" you don't think its going to happen, but so far the people who are devloping the game even said in a twit that Ash will be wearing armor.
So in reality I think this whole topic is moot.
The truth of the matter is that, people don't seem to like the OPTIONAL selectable outfit for ash. Thats the only thing I am wondering why they are complaining about its OPTIONAL if you don't know what that means look it up.

To make my squad look uniform and all wear the same armor , to me that was part of the fun of ME1 .
IMO , I still think we as fans of the( ME1) killed a lot of things we didn't get in ME2 because of all the complaining , about inventory and other things , they decide to simplify it to much for me I love my rpg elements , BW really does listen and read our feed back , they take an overall consensus and make determinations from there , so you may not see everything you want personally , but as a overall percentage .

Being over 50 doesn't necessarily mean being unattractive. That dude implied it was, so I raised him one Helen Mirren to prove him wrong.Mesina2 wrote...
