I can understand both sides of the debate , especially why ppl want Ash in armor proper armor that is , ME1 was about realism , different planets that you landed on had different hazards which required different protection , so we had different suits for protection , ME2 there was none what so ever , they took the star wars route where as Han and Liea had just breathers on in. Empire strike back ala the asteroid monster scene , that realism and info on equipment to use on missions was great, trying gather the most rarest of armors or even just

Exactly
The change from ME1 to ME2 made it look like not just two different games, but two different IPs. So now I have to wonder about the characters who were squaddies in ME1 and not ME2, what will be done with their appearances?

Pfft. Where's the outrage over Vega's fauxhawk? That's probably the most egregious design concept of any of these characters.
Pink/White armour with no camo for standard soldier uniform.ME1 was about realism
I remember the days on the old ME1 forums where a bunch of people would complain about Ash's ridiculous pink armour and how it serves no other purpose then "Look at me I'm a girl!"Phaedon wrote...

that would certainly be interesting, but she's only what, 106 years old, and asari live for up to 1000 years? So it seems unlikely (I can't remember the age samara told me, if she even told me, she was when she became a justicar), but who knows, what with all of the shadow broker stuff going on...D.Sharrah wrote...
I noticed that a few people have said that the alternate costume makes Liara look like Samara...did not take the time to read through all the pages so if this has been daid or asked forgive me...do you think that this is a sign that Liara has begun similar to Samara in some way; same stage of life? or perhaps even a justicar?

Dont know if its already been said but ME is sci-fi/fantasy.LIke dragon age, practicality of the armor was never the main concern,i mean how would a robe protect you from a sword slash.ME had a more realistic approach but it was all done so that it would create certain atmosphere and feel.the problem was that most of the armors felt generic. There must have been only about 4 armor models in the whole game.In ME2 they wanted to give the player and the companions a more unique look,so they gave shepard a kick-ass armor he could customise however he wished and the companions got their unique armors.Since there isnt much you can design that would offer much protection they sacrifised protection for looks and individuality and personaly im happy they did. Also it has been said that even thin layer armors (mirandas' armor) offer about the same protection due to technological advancements

And with that logic, it's an issue in ME3, how?GodWood wrote...
But anyways this wasn't a major issue in ME1 as you could choose your companion's armour.
